Since Diwali i have gained 6 kgs. All because I cant say no to Diwali Sweets,Christmas parties and endup eating like a pig till Holi.. Now I have just started the summer program.. Allready lost about 2 kgs... Unlike last year, I need a beach body before i hit the beach :aha: Does anyone know how to remain motivated or say no to sweets and beers/whisky during cold weather?

Count calories :) Have a target of 1800 to 2000 calories per day.. That way you won't gain too much weight even with sweets.. One badusha 190 calories.. if you eat 10 badushas. you shouldn't eat anything else :cantstop:. Can you do that?

Got 2 plates for squats earlier last week for first time : ) This Bangladeshi at the gym keeps sending me to the smith machine though :(( Everytime Im doing a squat or deadlift and I see him, I get lectured about how it could injure me and get sent to a machine which is not as effective. Cant just be rude and say no considering hes bigger and older.
so you switch from one of the best exercises to an ineffective exercise (and you are aware of this) to please - not a girl but an old bangladeshi dude. i think you are on the right path towards a great physique.

I drink only socially..so it is much easier for me. but the best thing is to stick on the periphery of the grocery store and don't get to the interior aisle. don't buy stuff..resist the urge while ur shopping. so later when ur at home..u cant eat even when u want to. controlling urself just while shopping is easier.
Unlike summer when I can do gardening or play cricket or swimming or simply jog in the park, in winter every weekend is used for social drinking. And on top of it there are parties. Secondly we get more visitors because of festive season. I get the guilt feeling if there isnt enough sweet veriety to offer when someone visits us.. Unsurprisingly for last few years, even Super markets import sweets and sell them at deals that too right at the entrance point during diwali. And to top it vistors bring their bagfull of sweets and Namkeen...

I dont have to even go to India.. There is this friggin Ambala Sweets chain.. All his sweets give taste of India (Specially Manchester one)

:haha: My problem is common across Indian population. I cant think of a reason to justify not to buy the sweets or say no when offered... Fridge full of sweets needs owners helpI need some killing and vocal argument to make me feel that I should not offer sweets or accept bags. :((

Fast during the navratras with only fruits and water. :cantstop: It has helped me. I am fasting for all nine days. I am sure that will help me lose some more weight.

Well it might just be the camera adding 10 pounds but I think you need it :giggle:... :winky: I don't think that's healthy to be honest. Just maintain a healthy weight, your weight seems fine.

I know I need it. :cantstop: I EAT A LOT. I mean not in the normal meal but when I am fasting on fruits, I eat like its my first time. My weight is okay for my height, I suppose.

+++1 .. i used it for more than a year... its very costly with minimum results... Whey + Creatine is much better.
Even Creatine does not do much. I didn't notice much after a month of taking it. I heard it gives you longer lasting energy for explosive movements due to increased ATP-PC stores, but tbh I didn't notice much difference on the amount of reps I got. At best 1 more rep, maybe that is crucial I don't know. Not completely sure but I think Creatine increases phosphocreatine stores in the body. This increases the capacity of the ATP-PC system (energy system for explosive movements). It usually peaks at 5 secs and lasts 20 secs. The lactic acid system (still anaerobic but limits intensity) becomes dominant around 10-15 secs. Increased stores of PC probably extend the time ATP-PC system lasts. So maybe one extra rep, some say that rep is very crucial...

If you know how Creatine works, you can use it to your benefit - either bulking or perhaps even cutting too.
