Serani Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Cant judge him on these conditions. Even crapthan would cause havoc in these conditions Well he single handedly won Pak at test at the oval when the pitch was flat and the ball wasnt swinging with a spell of 90+mph reverse swing.
punjabi_khota Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Wow, he’s literally carrying Pakistan’s attack on his young shoulders. Irrespective of what his real age is, he’s still an amazing find for Pakistan and a great addition to the world cricketing stage in general. He has been a breadth of fresh air, catching everyone’s eye with good, old fashioned swing bowling, much like how Swann has made attacking off-spin fashionable again. It’s a pity that he probably wont get an opportunity to test himself against the current generation of Indian middle order greats. The flip side to the argument, just because he probably will never play against India, the flimsy Pakistani fans will trumpet that he will easily ride rough-shod over our batting if he did play against them (even though that is not the case and our batsmen are capable of handling some high quality bowling..) The one time our greats came up against Asif on a green wicket (karachi 06), they were raped. So I wouldn't be too confident in your reverse assertion. The fact is, these are VERY tough conditions to bat in if the bowler is swinging at high pace. Of course , there is high probability of one of the fab-4 would get stuck and grind it out, like Trott did.
meloveindia Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 its the english conditions ... stupid zaheer khan is a better bowler than the pakis swingers... in english conditions land amir and asif in dubai and subcontinent pitches and u will know
Pioneer Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 its the english conditions ... stupid zaheer khan is a better bowler than the pakis swingers... in english conditions land amir and asif in dubai and subcontinent pitches and u will know ya stoopid!
satishg Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 he is the most talented bowler right now in world cricket, there is no doubt about it. This kid has heart and keeps trying every single ball, and i am sure he is wily as well, so that would make him dangerous in all conditions. And all those posters saying that Indian bowlers are better than this guy in English conditions is outright lame. He is making use of the conditions given out to him to the fullest level and i cant see how any bowler in the world can beat this guy, given the same conditions. Aamir will be dangerous on all kinda wickets. A great talent for Pakistan & international cricket.
IKnowU Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 :dito: We need to stop being up ourselves and respect that kid. Though I agree Indian phassst bowlers will be good in the same conditions........but noooooowhere near as effective as Aamer
panesarv Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 He's amazing. But yea, will be interesting to watch him in the subcontinent.
vvvslaxman Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 He's amazing. But yea' date=' will be interesting to watch him in the subcontinent.[/quote'] What are the odds of playing in subcontinent. SL doesn't play against any team other than India. Pakistan is too peaceful to conduct any cricket match. India is never going to host Pakistan in a while. There you go. Only team left is Bangladesh.
Holysmoke Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Good on him :two_thumbs_up:. Lets see where he is when he's 38.

And Amir has bowled much much worse on sub-continent wickets hardly taking any wickets. Even yesterday after the swing wore off he couldnt even take a tail-ender's wicket. To deny this is also stupidity

CSK Fan Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Id still take Aamer over any bowler other then Steyn every day of the week. :--D Thats your choice. Other Pak bowlers like Asif have really complimented Amir too which helps him. But, considering that he is only 18 and the work load he is carrying., I predict a breakdown soon
CG Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Id still take Aamer over any bowler other then Steyn every day of the week. :--D wait till he bowls on dustbowls then we will know how good he is .

Clarke Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 ahem .. most corrupt/luccha-lafanga 18 yr old cricketer as well :hysterical:
IKnowU Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 ahem .. most corrupt/luccha-lafanga 18 yr old cricketer as well :hysterical: I was heartbroken when I read he was part of the padosi masala today. He had everything in him to be one of the most successful bowlers ever......would have been one of the hottest players in the IPL Auction that was coming up. He ruined it all for himself for chasing some petty dirty money.

Roshanrocks Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 wow... one day he is a hero the next day... implicated in a fixing scandal... so will the result of this match be scrapped? it was fixed no?
