What do you guys think will be the outcome of this fixing scandal ???

Here's my guess based on previous instances and the way PCB and ICC acts... PCB will be unwilling to lose their "star" bowlers Asif and Aamer and will scape-goat borderline players such as Wahab and Umar Amin. I am guessing Wahab and Amin will be banned for life and Aamer and Asif initially banned for 2 years. After a month there would be another "hearing and appeal" process and the punishment will be reduced to a fine and a 1 year ban. This will be followed by another round of appeals, hearings, court filings and finger-pointing following which Asif and Aamer's sentence would be reduced to a 6 month ban and voila they would be in the world cup squad!!! :haha: And PCB will come out with a statement that Yawar Saeed will no longer be the manager, that Wahab and Amin were the ring leaders of the fixing scam and Asif and Aamer were just the "innocent" parties who were embroiled in the controversy :cantstop: ICC as always be a mute spectator and will pass a statement that they are satisfied by PCB's actions and that it's an internal PCB matter :--D Plus they can't punish the players twice for the same offence :hysterical: That's how I see things turn out. What is your take on what will eventually happen as the fallout of the scandal?

All the players will get medium fines and bans to come back the next time there's a brand new PCB board which should happen in the next year or so. EXCEPT for Asif. This is his THIRD major offense. Caught doping TWICE and once with opium. Those are not allegations but fact. There is absolutely no way this no ball, match fixing drug monkey should ever step on the pitch ever again.

Look, the excuses have already begun: http://www.cricinfo.com/england-v-pakistan-2010/content/current/story/475154.html

"One thing that struck me about Amir was his constant smile, his zest for the game," he said. "That has not changed. I will never condone any form of fixing, but we should consider that a cricketer might not be thinking of personal gain but of getting money to buy a generator for his village because they don't have electricity.
So Aamer was cheating because he needed to buy a generator for his village huh?? Uh, okay in that case let him cheat. I suppose terrorists in the swat valley need electricity to clean their AK-47s at night.

They always come up with this senti-bull-crap stories to justify their crime. Next would be "Poor guy bombed Srilankan cricketers because his entire family was living on earning from his gang".

This excuse has got to take the cake. So pakistanis were cheating and fixing matches to buy generators!!! :hysterical: Btw how much does a generator cost in Pakistan? I sure can by loads of generators for GBP 150000 :cantstop: Whatever be the reason, just the fact that pak fans are fine with the cheating just coz it was done for a "noble" cause is the root cause of Pakistan's problem. That's why Afridi was not dealth with harshly when as a captain he was caught ball tampering on prime TV just because "he's passionate and wanted to win badly" :haha: This is what happens when you have no morals whatsoever.

I think Asif will get lifetime ban. Maybe Kamral Akmal too.
Nothing of that sort will happen. All cheaters will escape with a naam ke vaas slap on their wrists. PCB is a rogue entity and ICC a toothless one.

As the OP said Riaz and Amin to be banned Akmals, Butt and Asif to be fined heavily Amir let off for being young and poor. And then Afridi will welcome the heroes back into his WC squad saying " Past is past. We will all happily play together now".

Problem is that PCB is also involved so if any of these players get b& for life , I am sure they will start talking and PCB doesnt want that. Maybe thats why Asif mia was getting unb& every time, someone is obviously looking after him
