kumble_rocks Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 That is exactly the problem with people like you in the world. No one can question the existence of others but you can question the existence of what you want as it is your freedom. And there are definitely schools in the world where the thought is that they even were merely mythological characters and that they never existed. And if you read some history, you would know there are already enough facts to prove the existence. What rubbish ! When did I say you can't question the existence of others ! Be my guest . Common sense tells me that it is easier to validate the existence of historical figures during and after BC. But if you want to believe that Ram/Krishna exists , please do so . But the jury is still out on the aunthenticity of your claims.
coffee_rules Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I am very disappointed, none of you suckers believe they made us
yoda Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Boy ' date=' I thought the religious nut bags were confined to Puke Passion website only , we certainly have our share of fairy tale believers !:winky:.[/quote'] Yea, we also have our share of morons who can't distinguish between those just want to be left alone and those who won't leave anyone alone. :winky:
kumble_rocks Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Yea' date=' we also have our share of morons who can't distinguish between those just want to be left alone and those who won't leave anyone alone. :winky:[/quote'] And we have our share of mor(m)ons ! What next , Amma is god and naysayers are moron ?:winky:
kumble_rocks Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 But seriously though , Yoda , I understand how it feels , Even I grew in a devout Hindu family ! Their is always the fear --- What if ! Heck , I may even attend the Ganesh puja tomorrow !
coffee_rules Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I think the message always gets diluted by rituals and interpretations. Unfortunately only the blind following gets mocked by non-believers, as fairy tale believers. Belief is highly personal, why would anyone want to force theirs on others (including the cynical non-believers)?

The jury is still out on everything, do not just say one religion. I really wonder what religion your own ancestors were, very unlikely they were the same as of you due to some being forcefully converted. Maybe try questioning yourself first.

And as regards to my ancestor , they believe the same fairy tale as you do ! No Saar , I don't believe in any new fairy tales of Moses, Jesus , Mohammed etc . But I believe in Amma ! She is god, ,. so don't you dare question her or ridicule my belief !:hysterical:

ravishingravi Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I have no issues with what Outsider said. I am not sure this is the forum for it.
kumble_rocks Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 So good for you' date=' but then do not try to ridicule other people beliefs.[/quote'] Dude, I have no intention of ridiculing anybody . Heck , I was on your side of the fence for many years. Now , the truth has dawned upon me on the futility of living in fool's paradise. On a side note, Pray tell me , why do you guys take comfort in numbers. So , the drift is , more than numbers, more bonafide is the belief ? So , is Amma or Satya Sai baba god ! After all they claim to be one and each have million plus in following ? In short , they get automatic impunity from criticism . After all, one can't questions one's belief. No matter, how ridiculous it sounds ! Sai baba bolo , Sai baba bolo .....

So hopefully, this issue is solved and you will not ridicule other religion.
someone Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I have no issues with what Outsider said. I am not sure this is the forum for it. That is good for you, but then it does not work the other way around when one starts asking the same questions about the other religions. There is a total different reaction( a more hostile one)
triam Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 does that equation tell you who and how the universe was created ? Does it tell you how to lead life ? Does it tell you why you are here ? Not everrything can be explained by science (yet) which is why there is Religion. But almost all the answers in any religion is made up, if we start following "Chicken soup for the soul" as the holy book in 500 years that will be a big religion with its supporters almost saying what you said as the reasn they follw the religion
Desi Cartman Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Not the Bhagwad Gita .... just read it ... its most certainly not as trivial as "Chicken soup for the soul" yes its very useful in day to day life. I also read vedanta and it explains everything Funny thing is, people remember the stories and forget the moral of the story !
triam Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Not the Bhagwad Gita .... just read it ... its most certainly not as trivial as "Chicken soup for the soul" I have BB, it has got some good parts, but nothing earth shattering.
f2000560 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 VHP and Bajrang Dal have set up some universities whose joint independent commission of scholars has published papers refereed by Ram Sena members in a Shiv Sena owned journal to prove their existence. But besides that in world renowned history journals and academic circles of top liberal arts universities, the evidence does appear a bit spurious. you should read "eminent historians" by shourie. not debating the existence of ram and the historical veracity but you will clearly see how left leaning historians have completely whitewashed history we are taught in india today.
