Oh come on. How do you compare "our ajeebness" with the nonsense lady gaga brings with her every time she appears in front of the camera ? Freedom of doing whatever you want is being stretch a bit too far IMO.
Online Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Oh come on. How do you compare "our ajeebness" with the nonsense lady gaga brings with her every time she appears in front of the camera ? Freedom of doing whatever you want is being stretch a bit too far IMO. It takes an extremely self righteous person to be able to point fingers at others. Maybe you are one, maybe you are perfect in terms of the ways that society wants you to behave. Maybe you do things in the privacy of your home that you would not dream of doing in front of the world. and probably that is being done because of etiquette, because the world determines it to be the right/wrong thing to do. In this example, she just does those weird things openly in front of the world. Yes her behavior attracts attention. Yes it could be regarded as distasteful by many. But is it WRONG? is it a manifestation of INSANITY? I don't think so. P.S: All the posters here are completely valid in declaring their criticism of Gaga's choice of costumes (if I may call it such). I'm saying that though I do not endorse the choice of costume, she is doing nothing wrong. She may be annoying a ton of people but we do need such freaks to remind humanity that we are not all the same. (as long as she does not harm any one in any way)
Online Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 By declaring her insane, as many people have in this thread, humanity is declaring that her train of thought is not acceptable to the overall majority. It is humanity's way of "evolving". By rejecting those who do not adopt to social norms or conventions, we are saying, this particular combination of genetic code is not what we want to go on in the human race. We are not exterminating or killing her, but by labeling her as a social outcast, we are marginalizing her from society.
yoda Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 All I can think of is that it is a waste of food. If you are going to kill an animal, at least eat the meat, or give it to the hungry if you have too much to eat.

Cricket balls are used for entertainment. Are cows being killed for entertainment?
yoda Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 cricket balls are made from the leather of cows. Cricket balls are used for entertainment. Are cows being killed for entertainment? I am not talking about killing animals for their by products used in commercialism, that's a whole another topic, the leather business, etc. Here it is a blatant waste of food given all the hunger in the world, then again she isn't the only one wasting food, I am sure most of us do everyday, just that here that is what came to my mind.

So in that case, I take it that you don't really have a problem with the rest of her outfits.

Even though all of this doesn’t necessarily apply to the Lady Gaga dress situation (I certainly don’t think she considers a meat dress as an evolution of human expression or anything alone those lines. It was plain publicity stunt and it worked. If she could have gotten the same amount of attention wearing a dress made entirely of twigs, she would have done it. ), I wholeheartedly agree with the theme of these posts. Very well made points!

f.b.m Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Another possible reason for this outfit: The costume might be a tribute to the state of Pakistani phasht balling.
EnterTheVoid Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Actually, lady gaga's dress sense is nothing new. Here are some examples from the past - When these artists appear, either they appear with the costume or are very reluctant to appear at all. After all, they've spent YEARS creating this type of image for themselves. SLIPKNOT: MARILYN MANSON: etc
flamy Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Shes ready to be cooked:regular_smile: :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: :hatsoff:

I just think that she does all this to grab attention and it usually works. Thats it. Whether that makes her a sad person or not, thats another question. As far as the outfits go, try leaves or flowers next time, they absolutely smell better. :)
