Mamu Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 More... SS Das dropped from Orissa Ranji squad, Debasis Mohanty to lead team Monday, November 29, 2010 Bhubaneswar: The former test opener Shiv Sundar Das has been dropped from the 14-member Ranji squad announced on Sunday for the match against Punjab scheduled to be held from December 1st to 4th at Railway Stadium. The senior selection committee of Odisha Cricket Association in its meeting at Cuttack also dropped all-rounder Rakesh Mohanty. The senior speedster of the State Debasis Mohanty will lead the team as skipper with Niranjan Behera as his deputy as SS Das was axed. Poor performance in the first three Ranji matches of the season is believed to have resulted in the dropping of Das, who scored a total of five runs in as many innings. Mohanty failed to make any notable contribution both in batting and bowling. The team now has Debasis Mohanty(Captain), Niranjan Behera (Vice Captain), Nataraj Behera, Bikash Swarup Pati, Paresh Patel, Subit Biswal, Basant Mohanty, Alok Sahu, Subhrajit Sahu (wk), Biplab Samantary, Gobind Podder, Dhiraj Singh, Santosh Jena and Ansuman Gope(Wk). Manas Ranjan Ray and Subhasis Bhuyan will join the team as coach and manager respectively. Hmmm wonder if he is the same guy who went to the same school as I did ? How do I find out more details about him, pictures ? bio ?
