Getting publicity is one thing on the other hand the content of his message is absolutely right. The ICC made a fool out of the Australian team and Harbhajan despite his racist remark got away. Harbhajan almost certainly called Symonds a "monkey" and should have been duly punished.

well problem is one is racist and the other is your typical foul language. that is the line. there was a player named Patrick Ewing in the NBA who was called a monkey by someone and it was considered totally racist and offensive. now the question is did he say maaki or monkey? it is very likely he said maaki, so I'll give him the BOD.

Agree with that... but you have to think from a India psychology perspective where insults to one's mother is considered the ultimate insult compared to any other insult. Also there is not much awareness in India as to the racial concotations of 'monkey'... to bhajji monkey is something symmonds is offended by so he said it to irritate symmo. Also I believe that there is a perception in India that white people cannot be subject to racism (only brown / black people can be)... and symmo would be considered 'white' in India.

It has nothing to do with being educated in English. More to do with racial interaction and being exposed to other races and being aware of the concept of racism.

I am not sure if he called him Monkey or not but Indians pass racist comments for every race and are the first one to cry foul when someone says anything to them. From names for south Indians , Biharis, people from NE and heck from everywhere to blacks , chinese , darrk , fair , people with disability etc we dont spare anyone. I have seen people in shops address Blacks as hapshee ( Apes ).
