Gunner_Mania Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Australia have rested the senior trio of Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson for the one-dayers against India later this month. In Ponting's absence, Michael Clarke will lead a side that includes South Australia batsman Callum Ferguson, who has made a comeback after a year on the sidelines due to a knee injury. Injuries to Shaun Tait and Ryan Harris mean Doug Bollinger will spearhead an inexperienced fast bowling unit that includes Clint McKay (12 matches), and the uncapped pair of Mitchell Starc and James Pattinson. The three-ODI series is from October 17-24. Michael Clarke (capt), Cameron White, Doug Bollinger, Callum Ferguson, Nathan Hauritz, James Hopes, Mike Hussey, Shaun Marsh, Clint McKay, Tim Paine (wk), James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, David Warner http://www.cricinfo.com/india-v-australia-2010/content/story/480058.html
kabira Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Rest from what. They are coming from big break. And shouldn't they be preparing for WC?? Strange. Fergusson should replace North in Tests too.

DarkLegends Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Callum Ferguson Is A Consistent Player For Aussies.......
Bradman99 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Yeah I'm a big fan of Ferguson, hopefully he can pick up where he left off. I think the absence of Watson will be a big blow for us though, don't think we have enough firepower in the batting line up without him there. I am personally not a fan of Marsh at all, would much rather see Hughes in there.
Sid Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Ferguson in my view is future aussie superstar specially in odi's but last time also it was an second string aussie team that defeated us in odis, hope its not the case this time . we should play the best eleven that resembles wat we are going to play in world cup ,but looks like gambhir is again going to miss out on a odi series with his latest injury
ViruRulez Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 good chance to close up the no.1 ranking between us and Aussies .. not possible to wrench the no.1 rank I suppose as we are nearly 17 points behind them in ODI but hopefully we can make it within 5-7 points .. any idea of what happens to the rankings if we whitewash the Aussies
kabira Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 if this guys were not serious about ODI series, should have played one more Test

Andy Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Battering a Pwnting and Twatson less Aussie side will not give me the same pleasure . I'll go with 3-0. Go India.
Mamu Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Battering a Pwnting and Twatson less Aussie side will not give me the same pleasure . I'll go with 3-0. Go India. Even an Australian D Team could beat India IN INDIA. Remember what happened last time. For all I care they could line up their f'ing swimmers from CWD against India and they would still win.
