Well, if there’s one change they’d like to make, it would be to bring in a quality spinner. If only the Aussies had a reasonable quality spinner who could at a minimum keep the runs down, the Indians wouldn’t have come within 50 runs of the target. Their lack of quality spinners is absolutely killing their chances in India. If this is their fate on tracks that offer reverse swing, imagine their plight on surfaces where the ball does NOT go Irish. At least in the last few years, Mohali has always been pro-reverse swing. Not every ground in India is like that. I don’t think they will drop Hauritz and bring in Steve Smith because Ponting has clearly said he considers Hauritz as the no.1spinner for the Ashes. Now that they’re 0-1 down, and if Dougie is unfit for the 2nd test, they might as well bring in Steve Smith, play 2 spinners and see how it goes.
