Sehwag has dropped to second after making 99 runs in the first innings but not batting in the second after the match ended a tame draw in Colombo last Friday. Sangakkara, who contributed with scores of 219 and 42 not out against India in Colombo, saw him reclaim the top spot which he previously occupied in 2009. Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar has climbed two places to take fourth position in the rankings after his impressive double century during the match. Sangakkara's team-mate Thilan Samaraweera has risen one place to 18th after scoring 76 not out and 10 not out, he has some work to do though if he is to climb back up to his previous highest ranking of 11th place. England's Andrew Strauss has just managed to break into the top 20 after captaining his side to victory in the first Test against Pakistan that concluded today. Strauss' team-mate Paul Collingwood has leapt five places to sit in 22nd while vice-captain Alastair Cook has slipped five places to 30th sitting one below India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. England's Matt Prior has risen to 33rd while Pakistan captain Salman Butt has dropped two places to 34th and Umar Akmal has slipped another six places to occupy 46th position in the table. England centurion Eoin Morgan has shot up the rankings to 51st position after his strong batting display with Collingwood at Trent Bridge. India's Test debutant and centurion Suresh Raina has entered the rankings in 60th place after his knock of 120 against Sri Lanka. In the Rankings for Test bowlers, there is no change at the top of the table, which is headed by South Africa's Dale Steyn followed by Pakistan Mohammad Asif. However England's James Anderson has climbed four places to claim fifth place, just behind his team-mate Graeme Swann who is now only 14 ratings points ahead of the fast bowler. Anderson's 11-74 sees him claim his highest ranking to date. A disappointing Test match for Pakistan's Danish Kaneria has seen the spinner drop six places to 21st; it is the first time Kaneria has been outside of the top 20 since 2003. It is better news for Kaneria's team-mate Mohammed Aamir who has risen four places to 34th after completing the Test with figures of 4-76.

Drived and Luxman are best and play for match winning innings. Other hand Gambher, sehwag,dhoni, Yuvraj,dravid and luxman are one of the best needy and supporting player in the indian team.

The 37-year-old Tendulkar scored 98 and 38 runs in the first Test against Australia in Mohali which India won by one-wicket yesterday. As a result, he improved his ranking by one place which puts him in third position in the list which is headed by Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara with Indian opener Virender Sehwag in second place. Tendulkar's third position is his highest ranking since the Hamilton Test against New Zealand in December 2002. He now trails Sehwag by 13 ratings points and another solid performance with the bat in the second Test, which starts in Bangalore from October 9, could potentially put him in second place for the first time since October 2002. Also on the charge was VVS Laxman whose unbeaten 73 proved to be the cornerstone of India's thrilling victory. Interestingly, Laxman in the past has peaked thrice in 2001, 2003 and 2007 – all against Australia. Rahul Dravid has moved up one place to 22nd spot but Gautam Gambhir and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have fallen to 16th and 37th positions, respectively. Australia opener Shane Watson, who scored 126 and 56, has also made a big impact on the rankings as he has vaulted nine places to claim a career-best 30th position. The news is not very good for the other Australia batsmen as Michael Clarke, Simon Katich, Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey and Marcus North have all slipped in the latest rankings. Clarke has fallen five places to share eighth spot with Laxman, Katich has dropped three places to 12th spot, Ponting has slipped two places to 19th position, Hussey shares 28th position with Ramnaresh Sarwan of the West Indies after falling six places while North now sits in 52nd after dropping five places. In the ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers, pacers Zaheer Khan of India and Australia's pair of Doug Bollinger and Ben Hilfenhaus have achieved career-best rankings. Zaheer, who was declared man of the match for his eight wickets, has moved into fifth position, while Bollinger's five wickets in the Mohali Test has helped him rise to eighth spot and Hilfenhaus is in the top 20 for the first time in 20th position. Mitchell Johnson is also on the move and his five wickets have lifted him two places to fourth position. Dale Steyn leads the bowling table with England off-spinner Graeme Swann in second spot. In the ICC Player Rankings for Test all-rounders, Watson has moved up by two places and now sits just outside the top five in sixth spot. Meanwhile, Zaheer Khan, India's bowling spearhead, is up to fourth in the bowlers rankings after his six wickets against South Africa in Durban, and VVS Laxman moved up six places to ninth after his 96 in the same match. Trott's 168 not out, which helped England seal an innings-and-157-run victory over Australia to retain the Ashes, takes him up from tenth in the rankings to within nine points of Sachin Tendulkar. Trott could actually overtake Tendulkar by the end of the Ashes depending on each of their performances in their next Tests. Zaheer is now joint-fourth with England fast bowler Jimmy Anderson on 752 points, while his team-mate Harbhajan Singh moved up to eighth position after also taking six wickets in Durban. Laxman's current ranking is just one below his best-ever eighth place, which he occupied in 2001, after his 281 at Eden Gardens.
