India-Australia pre test discussion for Bangalore

Right indeed. They are making it like a game of musical chairs. So many fast bowlers are selected and them made to warm the benches and then thrown out. Dhawal Kulkarni,Vinay Kumar being the point in case. So many other bowlers were also brought in and thrown out like Pankaj Singh or Avishkar Salvi. Of the expeienced lot we have L.Balaji,Munaf Patel, Irfan, Nehra who are constantly in and out. I think it hampers their confidence.Rather a pool should be created and the bowlers can be rotated on need.

Bollinger almost certain to miss Bangalore Test Doug Bollinger is almost certain to miss the Bangalore Test after he didn't bowl in any of Australia's two training sessions leading up to the match. More... Bollinger almost certain to miss Bangalore Test Sidharth Monga in Bangalore October 8, 2010 Doug Bollinger is almost certain to miss the Bangalore Test after he didn't bowl in any of Australia's two training sessions leading up to the match. The two-metre tall South Australia fast bowler, Peter George, is likely to get a Test debut, ahead of Mitchell Starc, a New South Wales left-arm quick in the Mitchell Johnson mould. George's richer first-class experience - he has played 19 Shield games to Starc's 10 - is likely to tip scales in his favour. Moreover, George is seen as somebody with Glenn McGrath-like control, and Australia would want that in a crucial Test. George played in the tour game in Chandigarh too, taking a wicket first ball in McGrath fashion, with the slant away from the left-hand batsman and some bounce. India, on the other hand, are waiting on VVS Laxman's recovery before they decide their final XI. Laxman didn't train in either of their sessions, but it is believed that he is confident to play. "Laxman is much better right now," MS Dhoni said. "We will take a call in the evening or tomorrow before the game. He didn't practise today. Five days of game can be difficult if you are injured at the start, and we will take a call later." Ricky Ponting is expecting Laxman to play, but won't offer him the generosity of a runner. "If he comes into the game, knowing what we had last week, he can't bring in pre-existing injuries and expect to have a runner," Ponting said. "I don't see any concerns with him, though. He actually looked pretty good with his movements as far as I am concerned about the last game. I am a bit surprised he hasn't batted today but he is obviously giving himself as much recovery time as possible." India, though, had good news on another front, with Harbhajan Singh looking good to play. "As of now everybody is available for selection apart from Laxman," Dhoni said. "None of the players have any injuries to my knowledge."

Ind will have to focus hard at B'lore. Not only would the OZ be looking to strike back but they also have a good record at B'lore Pitch is likly to be good for batting so the spinners may not find something in it for the first 3 days or so. Ind will have to rely on seamers to get the swing and reverse swing going. It will be good to see Sree back. Hope he gets the reverse swing going .... Vijay would be replacing GG. GG wasn't in best for form and Vijay is like a mixed bag so this could go either way, hopefully in Ind's way 2nd spinner vs 3rd pacer would be a good consideration too. Udnikat is a greenhorn so may have to sit out. But I wouldn't mind giving him a go as he is one of the bowllers who can swing the ball well from what I remember reading about him. Laxman shouldn't play if he is not 100% fit. In that case, Pujara can come in. Would be good to see the two Saurashtra boys make their debut!

It is certainly not for the fast bowlers. We have to bat first this time to win. It will be tough. But we we bat last then Aussies bowlers are going be less effective. I want Dhoni and Gambhir to take little more responsibility this time around. Pitch will assist our bowlers, espeically, Ojha and Bhajji. While batting first, need to play carefully for first session. We will bag this match as well. It will be fitting result.
