Physical force incl. spanking children is cowardice and inability to handle adult ang

(Offshoot thread to discuss this topic) Whether it be parents or teachers. A very rare light tap by parents to reign in a small kid is not the discussion here. But a good spanking or beating by parents or teachers or whoever is wrong. Hitting a child only shows that you dont know how to control your anger. Also, would you hit an adult? You hit a child because you know that (most likely) a child cannot or will not hit you back. That is cowardice. In US, a child can call 911 or report to school authorities even if PARENTS hit the child. Its a good law. These days even in India (at least in TN) - the law has banned hitting children in schools and teachers can be suspended or dismissed. Same rule (should) apply to parents as well who can be booked. Using firm (but non-physical) approach to discipline and then mixed in with showering love/affection in general, ensures better development of children. PS: This excludes EMERGENCIES. Say your kid is approaching something dangerous (fire, traffic etc), and you have to exert some force in emergency to yank them with force, thats diff. Even then, later on talk to them, versus beating them up.

Finey :nice: Now if one student is getting battered regulary in School what he/she should do? Complaining against Corporal Punishment by teachers doesnt work in 90% of the Schools.

If the intention is to hurt the child, of course, no good. If the intention is to reform you and if the student/child needs some kind of a wake up call, I am ok. Let's say a kid is inside his house and is smoking Marijuana, would you be ok with a parent forcefully taking it away from the kid or would you rather the parent call the police and have them book the kid and take him away?

I dont, LOL! (I mean an occasional very light, perhaps ok, but not into the real spank play :winky:)
Confirmation of femaleness and sexiness can result in homedelivery of occasional light taps. :orderorder:

I am not against punishment. I am against physical form of delivering it. Take away privileges, ground them, etc. If you think a day in lock up will do good in extreme cases, yes report to police formally. Dont play God, and dont play police. Discipline the right way, and love the right way (dont overpamper either).

Dude you have some issues.[/quote'] Well it is Illegal in most parts of the US except in some cases for medicinal use. So as a parent, you can go to jail if someone finds out that your house is being used as a joint.
