Raina at 3 wont be a bad idea' date=' in case we need some quick runs[/quote']
It is an interesting idea' date=' but on the flip side we can easily be down 2 wickets in no time with Pujara coming in at #3, which ofc is like with Dravid also these days. :(([/quote'] Yoda, Yes, its possible we are 2 down quickly. But like you say it can happen with RD too. I feel we dont have great options for the 4th Inn with our 2nd Inn specialists Gambhir and Laxman absent and Dravid (out of form). These 3 (GG, VVS, RD) are the reliable ones for 2nd Inn. Given the situation, sending Pujara at #3 is the better thing for that young lad. He may succeed, even then its a long shot. Sending Pujara when we are 4 or 5 down will be tremendous pressure on him on Day-5. I like the Raina at #3 that g92 says too. But given that there will be chin music with a new ball at #3, Pujara may be more technically correct than Raina at #3 - perhaps? Also Dravid is himself under the gun. So, he may be bit relieved to bat lower than at 3? We'll see what Dhoni does anyway. He'll probably just stick-to-routine!

For all we know, he could be even worse against it than Raina.

No great options exist for India. We just have to try Raina or Pujara at 3. With Dravid out of form, this is a real tough 4th Inn. Typically, Sehwag may not do well in 4th and Tendulkar law of averages in this match, plus we cannot expect another special from Tendulkar in this. Its upto the rookies Vijay, Pujara and Raina and hopefully the Wall and Dhoni can keep their cool!

I think Pujara should play at #3 followed by Tendu. Dravid can play at #5 if needed and rest as same. Just swapping positions of Dravid and Pooja.

There are plenty of Indian batsmen who look brilliant on paper but turn out to be duds at Test level. I'm not saying Pujara is one of them, but at this point we can't say anything in detail about his technical prowess.

Me nervous. Would settle for draw:((
Me extremely nervous. But I'll offer support for Ticz in this thread, like I did at Mohali. Good luck to Team India :isalute: Ticz will keep us all awake.

Indias greatest ever number 3 stays at 3.
not necessarily. if you remember the 2001 kolkata test, RD batted at 3 in the first innings and in the second, he switched positions with VVS and the rest is history. It sometimes makes sense to give it a try rather than sticking to the same old school of thoughts
