Clearly Aus will try to frustrate Sehwag with bowling wide and asking him to reach and play risky shots. They will deny him boundaries with field setting and bowling negative line. But I think if Sehwag is a bit patient, sooner or later the scoring opportunity will arise. The key is to remain calm for an hour or so, and then he will do well. He will score big if he is watchful for an hour, and once he gets going we will be in the chase :weebee: And not to mention, Nathan Horribltz will bowl irritating outside legstump line to Viru, with packed legside field and boundary men for the lifted shot. Thats the thing though, if in the first 40 minutes, he gets frustrated with the negative attack and short pitch stuff, he may throw it away. I hope GaryK and SRT can have a talk with Viru on the approach, though he never listens :haha: (except maybe to SRT)

For sehwag, they'll do a combo of short-pitch attack + negative bowling. The reason is, they'll believe the way to get Sehwag will be to frustrate him. I did see you were busy blasting Rajini movies :P Sehwag will be Sehwag no matter what you do or what the match situation is. He won't mind chasing wide outside the off. Remember, if you give him some height outside the off, he can upper cut for a six. The only person who can get Sehwag out is himself, ofc barring the odd great delivery which is always a possibility from guys like MJ or Hilfenhausheuahshsaus.

Didnt see the point in Aus bringing in all fielders and causing drama to stop Tendulkar getting 200, a guy whos scored so many runs in 24hrs is hardly gona feel any pressure if he has to work for his singles and it simply shows that Aus/Ponting are jealous of his success and all these milestones he is reaching.

Thats why he has a higher failure rate than first innings
fineleg Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 Sehwag who :aetsch: I know we cannot question the greatness of Virender Sehwag, but can he not even be a bit watchful in critical match situations? :headshake: Good that Chintu and VJ stepped up, but Sehwag got a life (reprieve by M.Hussey) and still went for risky glide! The thing is if he just takes a few more overs to settle down, he can be crazy destructive. He does this mistake in ODIs too, where he gets out too soon in going for S/R. If he stays calm for a bit, his S/R will anyway take care of itself when he bats for a while. He is that good, if he gives himself some initial time.
