saneindian Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Dhoni is world's greatest keeper-batsman-captain :--D The only ODI captain to average 50+ (with a minimum qualification of scoring 1000 runs) Can we please change the thread title once more please?
fineleg Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I dont agree with that he is a very natural and safe keeper' date='and add to that uses his appealing skills better than other WKs True :giggle:
Sid Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Sanga isn't better than Dhoni. His reflexes has gone down and thats why they have Prasanna as their WK in Tests, although he does his job fine in the ODIs.[/quote Prasanna keeps in test matches to take load off Sanga as he is their man batsman along with Mahela and he bats at crucial no.3 position

saneindian Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Sanga, for all his greatness as keeper, made Dilshan keep the wickets in his first test series vs Pak as captain! That IMO was extremely selfish and poor on his part.
ZodiaC Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Ganguly used to open the innings...if he comes down the order he would have not score those much hundreds coz of his strike which was just in early 70s..... :cantstop: Ganguly started playing in 1993 - so please stop comparing his 70 ish strikerate with Dhoni who started batting in 2004.. Averaging 41.57 from over 230 innings as an opener is excellent.. And again you have highest chance of getting out against the new ball.
gaurav92 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Prasanna keeps in test matches to take load off Sanga as he is their man batsman along with Mahela and he bats at crucial no.3 position So you are saying that Sanga is anyways a better wk than Dhoni ? I disagree, if you had looked at his keeping on slow sluggish tracks and also on Aussie tracks when they went there in 08, you would notice that his keeping ability has fallen with age.His judgement of spin has come down, and he finds it difficult to keep when Murali is bowling.

don_corleone840 Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Ganguly and dravid better than dhoni???? is this joke ??? their strike rate is less than 75 and dhoni strike rate is 89. dhoni is miles ahead of them in terms of average .

Ranjha Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Dhoni is best one for India atm. Sanga is a better odi bat and test bat. Gilly was in a different league alltogether. Ganguly was a better batsman than Dhoni.
Andy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 First of all i agree that adding captaincy to argue he is greater is silly' date='when it comes to scoring 100's ,I think you should know, batsmen batting at opening and no.3 positions have better chance of scoring hundreds than some batsmen who are there to finsh the games and play as finisher in their line up[/quote'] Compare his average outisde Sub Continent..anywhere near Dravid or Ganguky? Dont think so.
