Ganguly and dravid better than dhoni???? is this joke ??? their strike rate is less than 75 and dhoni strike rate is 89. dhoni is miles ahead of them in terms of average .
Saurav, Dravid had to play against some real quality pace bowlers like Wasim, Waqar, Mcgrath etc. on different soils, whereas Dhoni has played well only on Sub Continental paatas.I just don't get it how people just make comparisons blindly. TBH MSD is no where near Yuvraj's caliber, forget about comparing with Legends like Dravid and Saurav. Dhoni has performed only on India/Pak/SL/bang tracks, he failed in Eng, Aus and SAF.He was okish in NZ, because of the lack of good quality bowling and the drop in pitches, not that conducive to bowling. So on any ground, MSD is wayyyyyyyy below the two Legends that you easily forgot there. :D

Why only Ganguly? Dravid' date=' Sehwag, Yuvi most of them.[/quote'] Definately all of them are batsmen of much higher quality than MSD but I just brought Ganguly up since he was being discussed.

Compare his average outisde Sub Continent..anywhere near Dravid or Ganguky? Dont think so.
He had a ordianary series in England in 2007 where he scored just one 50,otherwise he has performed well in Australia ,NZ and SA.And please dont compare Dravid and Ganguly with Dhoni,he is not as talented as them ,he has his own technique and own way of scoring runs and great part about his batting he doent look out of place anytime

Because in Terms of Runs and Tons in ODIs Ganguly was India's 2nd best

Id personally rate even Akmal or Mcculum ahead of Dhoni, for their ability to bat in the top order under pressure, even when there is a big collapse or the pitch is difficult..And Gilly and Sanga are miles ahead of him. As a keeper, and captain, hez great though.

The reason he didn't perform well in Eng, SAF and Aus is just that.

and you have highest chance of getting runs in powerplays...dont forget Ganguly started playing regularly since 1996 and before him Sanath Jaysuriya had invented how to play in PP overs and add one thing more SRT despite playing since 1989 has a strike rate in high 80s
SRT is in a different league.. And what's all that stuff about Jayasurya inventing how to play etc :giggle: His s/r is in the 90's but average is barely 35. And that says how hard it is to not give away wicket in the powerplay overs. Ganguly is not the quickest of scorers, he starts slow and then accelerates, so he's bound to have an overall low strike rate. I'm not talking about exceptions like Gilly & Jaya here, how many openers except one or two like this had s/r in high 90s? And how many of them averages 40+? And of the current generation irrespective of his position almost no one has s/r of below 80. Raina - 90, Yuvi 88 etc etc that is why I said you can't directly compare s/r of Ganguly and Dhoni. Not to forget the quality of opposition

Ganguly scored runs abraod' date=' Dhoni has done nothing so far and Failed..Not Just Ganguly Dravid used to bat in middle Order too, check how he fared.[/quote'] both have low strike and average....first give whats their records abroad and then check Dhoni scored iand won matches for India n Aus, in SL, in Pak, in Eng, he was nt bad on the last tour of SA too in ODIs where every body failed whether its SRT or RD so dnt talk about that..

Ganguly Averages 40+ bt less strike rate, Gili strike 90+ but less average so no point comparison....I dnt think there is any opened who has average in 40s and strike rate in 90s...while SRT averages in 40s with gud strike rate in high 80s and same is with Dhoni who plays as a finisher...that is why in the last few years we have been able to win some matches who we used to lose before... you also cant give the name of any WK batsman who bats at 5-6 and averages around 50 and strike around 90......no one i think he is unique in himsefl

Dhoni's strike Rate is beter No Doubt, But so Dravid and Sourav Played in different era. Cant compare the strike rates. Those Days 260-270 were wining totals and this days even 400 is chased down.

Well when the ball mioves ,most of the modern day batsmen look ordianry, let alone Dhoni and he performed well in AUS nd SA,specially SA,where our batsmen had a torrid time,by those standards he perfromed well in SA IN 2006

Dravid, Ganguly & co faced almost all the bowlers dhoni faced + Wasim, Waqar, Mcgrath, Warne, Donald etc Dhoni has 39 not outs while sachin in his whole career has only 41 :giggle: Now do the math plz...
