patriot Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I think so. This is something China has been doing for donkeys years even when it was nothing of the sort of power it is these days. We need to do it in Kashmir first then in Naxal region. These Hurriyat mofos needed to be brutally murdered long time back. These poisonous parasited get Z - category protection from the GOI and yet leave no stone unturned in harming India's interests. We need a Modi at the central govt to execute this. Hint : Godhra will be totally forgotten in a few years - All people will see is the stunning pace of development in Gujarat.
Clarke Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 duh .. if the mighty Sri Lanka can do it, so can we.
Ram Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 What are we, the Mexican drug mafia? Respected govts. dont go around carte-blanche assassination of renegade leaders. For starters, it will bring the Kashmir issue, which has till now been essentially been relegated to the tier-II list of international conflicts thanks to wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, Georgia etc, to the forefront of international scrutiny. Everyone, including the UN will start talking about it and it will bring with it a myriad of problems, including permanent damage to our image as a responsible, growing power in South Asia. No.2, the comparison with the Sri Lankan conflict is flawed. What happened in Lanka was a civil war, what is happening in Kashmir is an insurgency. Civil wars are more reliant on leadership figures, insurgencies much less so, which is why every now and then, the US keeps claiming that they killed the no.2 Al-Qaeda leader in Afghanistan or the no.4 Taliban leader, but the insurgency has been going strong for a decade now. Plus, the leaders of the Hurriyat clearly have a lot of political capital within certain section of the Kashmir population and if you just assassinate them on one fine night, you risk igniting the insurgency even further and exacerbating the situation, rather than resolving it. Terror groups LOVEE to play politics on the dead bodies of their slain leader. Why does anyone think Hamas holds those dramatic last funereals for the leaders assassinated by Israeli drone strikes? Every single time a Hamas leader is killed by the Israelis, the group uses that to inflame passions even more and rile more people up. Long story short, if we assassinate the leaders of the Hurriyat, we risk converting the Kashmir issue from a worrying but under control situation into a potentially explosive problem that has excellent potential to spiral rapidly out of control, garner HUGE negative publicity, give Pakistan the much needed leverage to bring Kashmir back into the talking points and possibly result in an eventual separation of the Kashmir state from the Indian republic. Not a a good idea at all.
Clarke Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 mm, u and ur essays :P There are some parallels with SL in that a section of the people feels oppressed and have secessionist ideals with some tendency (more so in case of SL because of the genocide) towards violence. Make no mistake, the crowds did not carry guns but they did and continue to do a fair amount of damage on a daily basis. Some pastor considers burning a copy of the quran and they burned down a school and a govt building. How will one deal with such a crowd which does not believe in secularism and seeks independence at all costs ? Knocking out leaders is done the world over, not just by drug mafias but by govts as well. CIA ran covert programs earlier, no big deal. The point of course is, what do u gain/lose by such actions ? How well can u conceal them ? Can they occur, for instance, along with revoking article 370 or should one go without the other ? All the talk of international scrutiny, what happened after the assassination in dubai ? A tiny as hell nation carries it out in the middle of the arab world, and we're scratching our heads worrying about international pressure ? China does things the way it feels, Pakistan exports terror to India till date, Israel carries out assassinations as well. Why the **** do we still have to be worried about international repercussions ?
seedhi Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 No we shouldnt assassinate anyone in the Hurriyat and make martyrs out of them. I am appalled that someone can make such a strategically short sighted suggestion. Kautilya would be rolling in his grave (if he had one), as he would have countless times over the blunders committed by the rulers of India since his time. Morality aside, a cursory look at where the sons and daughters of the Hurriyat separatists work/study, how much security and medical care etc is provided by the GoI to these people should make it clear that they are useful puppets over whom GoI retains an enormous influence. The biggest virtue of the Indian state is its patience, we will wear them out and bore them to death. These talks are going to change nothing unless the Congress commits another blunder which I dont think it will, given that there is a vigilant opposition and a military. Let us remember that the final "solution" lies "in" the collapse of pakistan, which I think is only a matter of time. Within a decade, with appropriate pushing around by India, pakistan should implode in one way or the other thereby ending its nuisance value.
Ram Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 mm' date=' u and ur essays :P[/quote'] Here's a quick tip - How about you dont bother to read then? Trust me, my heart wont be broken if you dont. :P

Within a decade, with appropriate pushing around by India, pakistan should implode in one way or the other thereby ending its nuisance value. How simplistic. You think ISI and company is just going to see Pakistan implode without causing any damage to India ? Don't underestimate this rogue that has for nearly 25 years taken American administration for a ride and has given a fresh $ 2 B impetus. You do know the gravity of the NAxal problem in INdia, right ? You do know how many times Chinese choppers have violated Indian boundary in the recent past, right ? You know the build up China is managed in Arunachal borders, right ? Do you realize what China could do ganging up with the Naxals ? It reminds me of what we did to Pakistan in 1971 with the Mukti Bahnis. Do you understand how desperately Pakistan would want to get involved in this ? Nothing is going to happen if we just be " patient " and wait for Pakistan to implode. We need to be ruthless and brutal in eliminating the haramkhors that are inside the country so that we can prevent the external enemy from ganging up with them and paralyzing and wrecking India. No major power will bloody question us...considering their own shady and chequered history of human rights violation. We have to take the hard steps now.
Clarke Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Here's a quick tip - How about you dont bother to read then? Trust me' date=' my heart wont be broken if you dont. :P[/quote'] abe, take it as a compliment. You brought some discussion to the one liners. seedhi, that's a bold prediction @ collapse. I doubt that will happen and the possibility of it.
f2000560 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 well since its been summarized so well by mm and seedhi no point killing and making martyrs out of them . in fact people like arundhati should not be arrested it will only make vocal all those people who think india is a sham democracy.Much better to give them the silent treatment. I don't think the collapse of pakistan is far fetched but not really sure if it would be in our best interests.
achilles Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Yes. The point is our political establishment wants to "kill em with kindness".
straight.drive Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Islamic world is well know for it's propensity to burn and destroy, pakistan and it's army of suicide bombers are a case in point. Assassination by state of any of these hurriyat leaders would inturn make us a hostile target to all the green countries to our east and west. And we are not as strong as nation that has the David's star. The best strategy is to appease hurriyat leaders, isolate pakistan from other islamic countries (and western world) and showcase our economic growth to "win" over kashmiri's. Thereby we can assimilate them into our vast muslim population. On a related note, one must see how chinese have "solved" the tibetan problem. They have brought in horde's of han chinese so that tibetans have become a minority in their own land!!!. We should have done that and brought in hindus into the valley, thereby making kashmiri's a minority. But those idea's are impractical in a Democratic state :(
coffee_rules Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Why should Indian govt give them security cover when they don't want us in that state? Just taken their security out and see how long they survive? Pak and their chamcha terrorists will make them as pawns and kill them within a month. Stupid mofos and this Roy is a leech who is milking the controversy and applying for a nobel peace prize next year.
