He is under rated for sure. He is the best all rounders in world cricket at the moment without a tinge of doubt.
Yes, what I like about him is the way he plays under pressure at this age, damn impressive.

credit must be given to those players, who play for hopeless teams, with at least 6 very average members in it......shakib certainly is one of them , he plays for a team with 10 average members, and yet manages to do the work of 11 men. others in my opinion in this category are, umar gul (does that batting n bowling work for all the other hopeless players) and matthews (has held the batting line up many times when the other FTBs are out n team is like 50/4 after 16 overs, and exceptional fielder) even raina is underrated, considering how he saved Ind from humiliation in SL in ODI series (after the 2-0 test loss) against the spin duo, when all the other batsmen failed, and his unselfish knocks for CSK and India, which made victories much easier.

Umar gul is never expected to bat, it's just that he happened to bat well for that 1 inning. BD depend on Shakib with the bat and ball heavily - there's a big difference. And Pak has other players, but BD has none except him & tamim. He's a far better fielder than gul too. And what's that 2-0 test loss & humiliation stuff eh? :hmmmm:

Ohh :hysterical::hysterical:
Im not a troll, and i dont like the FTBs. Correction: 2 -1 test loss , when sehwag scored 200 in Galle. The ODI series after that would have been lost if not for raina. Thats what i meant! And Umar Gul, whenever i checked Pak matches scorecards, there were this huge list of single digits, followed by one quickfire 30/40/50 by umar gul....hez played a lot of good innings in aus n eng i think

Gul afaik has scored only one 50 and that is the one against England :hmmm: He's nothing but a tailender who comes in handy with the bat. Harbhajan has played under pressure knocks than gul. Nothing special.

Anyway, gul is still a very underrated bowler, he shoulders all the work with excellent spells when the others are busy tossing pies, shooting lankans, infighting and fixing matches. Ok he has only one fifty, but his scores are much better than any of his teammates- always stands out with his 20s and 30s, which are astronomical by paki batting standards

The only player in world cricket to score more than 200 runs and take over 10 wickets in a bilateral series. That too in a four match series where he was made captain against his will. The best all-rounder in the world by far. Jadeja and Yuseless Pathan aren't fit to tie the laces on his boot.
Got your facts wrong

Ganguly did it in the "Friendship Series" in Toronto and just recently Watson also accomplished this feat in the 2009 series in India. There are a few more players as well to have done this. Going back to the OP, Sakib has been performing for a while and has been grabbing the headlines as well. He's even ranked #1 allrounder in the ICC rankings by a big margin. Seems to be rated fairly well IMO.

Not getting the hype swann/watson/Ukmal etc are getting IMHO.

Both Sakib and Tamim are fairly studied by BD opponents, they get enough respect from opponent players and fans so i dont think Shakib is under rated. As far as his standing in World cricket goes you have to remember Shakib is still young i dont think he is even 25. Yes he has done well , far more consistent than any BD player of past but there is a whole lot of test cricket he still needs to play (and perform) before he can be rated higher compared to what is he rated now

Since shakib made his debut(2006).. in odi:qualification(1000 runs and 100 wickets)..but sak is the only player to achive this!..others either scored 1000 runs or 100 wickets...so i cut the 1000 runs...now see the stats..he is way ahead of every body..as like if he is on top of averest..others r just starting to walk.. 2i1fv4i.jpgin tests:if the qualification is 1000 runs and 100 wickets again then sak doesn't make it cos he took 75 wickets but only played 21 tests.. 16ghn45.jpghere is saks stats..and he isn't very far behind: 24ot8k1.jpg :bow:
