But bounced back big time today and got draw easy. To win on that pitch was nearly impossible. They showed fight and courage to get the draw. If we win series then am happy. Just shows how good the players are that we get a draw and knives are out. The standrads for team are so high! Any how you carry on slitting your wrists over it. I am backing the players to deliver big time in rest of series

Its ironic that people think that the opposition will just roll over because we are playing at home and we are the number 1 team. We can't win every match. Given the position we were in yesterday we should have lost this match, but it is a testament to the team that they have fought from the brink of a lost cause and successfuly drew the match.

I just want wins.they arent playing SA or Eng,its NZ n we r playing at home.we should win,isnt it.we should've got 600 in first innings after first day.n should've got them out cheaply.there was enough spin there.theres no point blaming the track,we were 15-5 on same track.its just that we were overconfident n waiting for them to make mistakes rather than create them.its only when we were 15-5 that we realised there was game on n applied themselves. I too am backing them to deliver in rest of the series.they have been given a wake-up call by NZ.the players will surely respect thier opponents now

I think D2 onwards India wern't playing in this test. Why were SRT and Laxman were made to play like that? On D2 they were instructed to save wickets. Why? This whole test looks like was made to prop up NZC cricket after their disastrous BD tour. It is in BCCI's interest to keep the series/test cricket alive. I don't necessarily think WYSIWYG in this test. (conspirary theorists unite!)

More like Complacency by Indian batsmen (took NZ too easy) and some accurate bowling by C.Martin. The spell that Martin was in required a lot of concentration and application from the batsmen - you cannot play loose shots, away from body etc when a bowler is in a super spell. It required some dogged application and focus in that session on Day-4. Anyway, Big wakeup call for the Indian batsmen, hope lesson learnt for the subsequent matches in this series.

All that adds upto law of averages. Sachin, Sehwag, Lax have had so consistent they had to fail sometime!! Unfortunately that came at a time when Gambhir and Dhoni are struggling. Anyways as you said, the perfect wake up call. Now they will come out firing in the next 2 tests.

The team drew the test but a couple of players need to perform or perish. The team cant hide their awful performances for very long.

Another one for the slitters.... Both Dravid and Tendulkar, individually, had more runs than all of NZ team. Still we were 15/5 India broke the record of team career aggregate runs in the first test. (49k) vs NZ (11k). Still we were 15/5
