bharathh Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 IMO a couple in a live in relationship expects the relationship to fail at some point. That is why there is a fear of a complete commitment.

Have you had a roommate before? Any gender...Even best friends could turn bitter when running a household together.
shubham45 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 not acceptable ..indian culture doesnt give u permission 2 do so...n acc to m indian youth is very wrong in following the western culture respect u r own culture ......
Zap_Brannigan Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 You mean the culture that made kamasutra and has naked statues of men and women in its temples?

Have you had a roommate before? Any gender...Even best friends could turn bitter when running a household together. I agree that living with a person is very different from meeting them outside. However, the concept of trying out a relationship seems a little weird to me. If the couple is interested in a relationship in the first place, why not show more confidence towards their future together? There will be little incentive for the two to ever work out things between themselves if things go bad (and there are always trying times for every couple) because it is easy to walk away. A marriage generally forces a couple to be more mature in their relationship (obviously there are exceptions) and work things out. I have seen many couples in live-in relationships that break up and then get together again after sleeping with a few others because of some stupid spat that broke them up in the first place. Although I'm not against live-ins per say, I do believe that it is just used as an exit by guys and girls who are more interested in intercourse with a steady partner than a real relationship.
dial_100 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 You mean the culture that made kamasutra and has naked statues of men and women in its temples? Wow....level of ignorance is unbelievable.
gs Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I don't think there is anything right or wrong about it. If the 2 partners are incompatible for whatever reason, their relationship will be painful - be it in a marriage or live-in scenario. It's up to the 2 consenting adults to make their choices and deal with whatever the consequences are - good or bad. Society just needs to be more mature about it and treat them as adults as long no law is being violated or any harm is being caused.
CSK Fan Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Wow....level of ignorance is unbelievable. How is this ignorance? Please explain. there is no doubt that Indian society was a lot more permissable in the past

If you really think that normal people in india give damn about kaamsutra crap then thats ignorance. The temples you are talking about is a very odd example and that is not commonly noticed everywhere in India. If these is only 1 area where these temples are built then it shouldn't be generalize. Besides, nobody gives damn about kaamsutra in their day to day life. otherwise you should have seen that in our culture which is not true. Common population of our country is just the way it appears. Thats all I am saying.

Today society is again changing with times and what was once taboo is acceptable.
