Our bowlers will look good in SA and like world beaters in England. Its all about the pitches folks. Trust me if sree, zk and ishant had bowled on pitches last summer in england they would have caused mayhem

Absolutely and weve got the batsmen to deal with the NZ bowlers ...in theory anyway.. which makes one wonder WTF is behind the pitches being so flat. At least give em a raging turner.

Pitch was fine, you can put more blame on our spinners as they did not do enough to get anything out of pitch. NZ batsmen kept sweeping and field was never altered to stop that shot nor bowlers changed their length.they never built any pressure on them. Sehwag being hurt changed lot of things if he had bowled I am sure he would have got more purchase from pitch than these two spinners. Reverse was not on offer that much and that killed any chances of winning the match, recently even against Bangladesh we saw our three spinners struggle, they looked so ineffective and leaked so many runs. Blaming the pitch is very easy thing do but they were never going to get them out unless somebody provided them some impetus like Ishant did in Mohali and Zak has been doing over last three years. So why play with two spinners if neither of them can be attacking options instead play with three seamers who looked more threatening and looked more likely to get wickets.

Even a grassy pitch that aids lot of seam movement should be fine. On any kind of pitch where there is some help for the bowlers, kiwis will struggle. Their best chance is on flat wickets and the two pithces have been exactly to their liking.

Only losers make excuses, winners don’t, they don’t have to. The Indian team has been winning a lot off late, but they also have every right to demand playing conditions that suit our team. How hard is it to understand that spin-friendly conditions is our best bet to exact results that favor us? How difficult is it to comprehend that opposition batsmen, especially from those outside the sub-continent, have for long had traditional weaknesses against spinners in conditions that aid them? How complex is it to figure out that, in such conditions, we have a comparative advantage because our batsmen are more capable of facing the gauntlet thrown by the opposition spinners than vice versa, automatically giving us a significant advantage? When we were getting walloped in pace/bounce friendly conditions in Australia, England and South Africa in the 90s, everybody berated us for being pathetic players against quick bowling, but when the tables are turned and the storyline reversed, the ICC intervenes and raps BCCI in the knuckles for preparing pitches that are too spin-friendly. How is that fair, by any stretch of the imagination? All the Indian team is asking for is for playing conditions that suit their traditional strengths. This is nothing new, either in cricket or in other sports as well. When was the last time we saw a crumbling turner in NZ? Forget cricket, even tennis has 3-4 different playing surfaces. Players like Pete Sampras and Goran Ivanesevic were murderous in the grass courts of Wimbledon with their serve and volley game tailored to meet the demands of the conditions, but it is generally the Europeans and South Americans, with their back-court game, who generally dominate the clay-courts. No one complains to the All England Lawn Tennis club that their grass-courts that are biased against back-court players, do they? Variety is the essence of life, not the enemy of life. Its time effin time BCCI got its heads together and try to come up with some strategy to help prepare more bowler-friendly tracks in India. Of course, no one in his right mind will ask for pitches that are so spinner friendly, they spit out flames every time the ball lands on it. What we also should recognize is that even though we’re quick to lay blame on flat tracks, the difference b/w a result game and a drawn game, could be just a two-wicket spell, or a lucky run-out or even a rush of blood from the batsmen. But that shouldn’t distract us from the underlying problems that is harming our own interests and that is, for far too long now, we havent maximized our advantage at home as much as we could/should have.

It's only the two big hitters that have troubled us (and Laxman, who is playing properly).
