fineleg Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Sreesanth in ODIs is really like WTF ..... and DK should consider himself unlucky. Sreesanth in ODI -more than leaking runs (which he will), if he picks up an injury before SA tour - it will be really stupid on part of selectors. DK or RU should have been the ODI keeper instead of Saha. Saha may be more suited for Tests than ODIs. Even for Tests, Dinesh Karthik played well in prev SA tour, so he's unlucky now. Why is Uthappa not being considered?
graphic23 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 gra23- If achilles talked abt msd-reserve keeper-politics, stick to him if you want to counter/troll. Maybe gra23 was just crawling out of his hole where the sun never shines, and hit his head so his already mashed brain got confused some more. And gra - when u crawl back in, take ur partner in crime who :cantstop: cantstop with you. And yeah don't troll needlessly, stick to whoever made the point on keeper selection. Lets hope Dharmasena and Davis give some horrible howlers against SRT in Test-2 and Test-3 if above is the case Achilles. Hopefully that will get SRT to sing in favor of UDRS too. You're a genius for making that comment. Yeah, make yourself comfortable knowing that you're an objective fan. The rest of us will just ignore you for being a moron. Believing facts without evidence and then hoping for the failure of India's best batsmen, not anything new to you considering you've wished injury upon him in the past. You're the unfortunate proof that Indians do share some common traits with Pakistanis. Absolutely pathetic.
fineleg Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Well, if you have any brains whatsoever you will realize that: 1. Quite a few fans have been hoping poor umpiring decisions against India - the reason is not to have India suffer, but have the Indian team and BCCI be given a jolt so UDRS can be adopted 2. SRT is a strong opposer of UDRS. Hence the stmt that was written there. When fans said in "generic terms" abt hoping for poor umpiring decisions against India, you did not have any issue. When your Good Lord of the Heaven - SRT was mentioned, you cry a river. The whole idea is to have people convert quickly to using UDRS and without having a whole bunch of matches pass by without the system in place. That is the wish. You miss the forest for the trees. I hope this explanation at least points out to you what was being said there, if you still dont get it, feel free to make a few more slanderous posts and in your modus operandi of mixing in personal attacks against members. PS: This thread is to do with player selections - not even anything abt UDRS. Yet you have to find a way to 1. write abt the UDRS related comments, and 2. Twist it your own way to put down people and you think that you have higher IQ than others, all needless condescending attitudes.

saneindian Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 In the worst case scenario, if we lose the first 2 ODIs to the kiwis, will the seniors be back for the last 3 ODIs?
diegovegaz Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 surprised to see raina in the odi squad, dhoni wanted him to be rested yusuf and jaddu are back, hahahhaah tyagi, mithun should have been given oppurtunities, messed up by the selectors again test squad is pretty much expected, umesh yadav is a strange pick though good to see the selectors name wriddhiman saha, as long as he features as the specialist wicket keeper in both odis and tests in fact, kaarthick was the appropriate choice for odis, but the selectors have shown some brains by giving saha exposure to international cricket
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Pathetic to say the least Jadeja ' date=' Yusu gets chances after Chances and we see Dhawan, and Mithun being dropped. Tyagi is a Pathetic bowler.[/quote'] well agree with you on jadeja. Regarding Yusuf, I think he could be very successful against kiwi attack on indian pitches. Outside of india or against very good attacks(especially against pacy bowlers), yusuf is a nothing player, we all agree. Again agree on Dhawan, should have been included.
King Tendulkar Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Selection of sree in odis is a ploy to protect Nehras place. They know he will leak runs(he is a test match bowler) and so not picked a proper challenger to goofy to secure his place.
Lord Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 WTF?Why Saha in ODIs?DK was doing okay?n theres Uthappa? n wats Sree n VK doing there,Sree's career E/R is 6.3 n we know how VK bowled, why no Nehra? also why change of back-up captains, they had Raina in Zim,if they r looking to groom him then give him chances.I hope they r looking to groom GG atleast, otherwise if they r only looking for stop- gaps, then Yuvi should been chosen as hes senior most in the squad. in tests why select,Umesh?wats he got except occasional 140 k delivery?

Nehra is being rested. Sree's selection is baffling. VK :nervous: Saha has a much better List A record than DK, and DK has never been that consistent. Fair enough I guess.

VK :nervous: Saha has a much better List A record than DK, and DK has never been that consistent. Fair enough I guess. Nehra rested for what?hes not in the test team n ODIS against SA r far off?:hmmm: about Saha,he has a better average, but I dont think he can hit big shots,n thats important in ODIs

Can be a handy middle order bat.
Lord Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Dunno' date=' for sum unknown reasons :--D[/quote'] sad we have to guess n selectors dont give any reasons He's no Raina, but he can play big shots. Can be a handy middle order bat. is he better bet than Uthappa
Sir john Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 saha can bat well i think. yadav looks a good future prospectus due to his raw pace. :bubblegum:
saneindian Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 sad we have to guess n selectors dont give any reasons is he better bet than Uthappa On what basis should Uthappa have been chosen? If Uthappa, why not Rayudu who has been in great form in domestic cricket and is also a part time keeper? Saha is the reserve keeper and has been sent to India A tours, picked for rest of India and its natural that the understudy gets chosen when the main keeper is rested/injured. Also the 178* he scored proved to be a timely knock.

Rayudu's List A average isnt different from Uthappa, though I guess Uthappa's S/R is higher.Uthappa can hit the big shots n can improvise n can solve our no.7 problem if we play 7 bats.I think hes even better bet than Tiwary for no.7
youngindia Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 On what basis should Uthappa have been chosen? If Uthappa, why not Rayudu who has been in great form in domestic cricket and is also a part time keeper? . Uthappa is an exceptional striker of the ball and has to be in the team always for having this exceptional gift. rayudu is fine as well. but uthappa has to be treated in the same way as yurvaj is for the shorter forms- exceptional strikers of the ball and matchwinners.
Andy Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Nehra rested for what?hes not in the test team n ODIS against SA r far off?:hmmm: about Saha,he has a better average, but I dont think he can hit big shots,n thats important in ODIs Saha is not a Big hitter, But he is a very street smart Cricketer. DK is not a big hitter too, i have hardly saw him clearing the boundaries in International Cricket. Whenever he has shown his hitting prowess it has been in IPL and against slower bowlers. Hence there is not much of a difference between Saha and DK. About Saha's scoring abilities in limited forms of the Game we'll see how good or bad he is once he plays. What i have seen of him in Challengers and IPL is that he can score boundaries and more important is he can score them when fields are spread.
King Tendulkar Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Maybe Nehra has been dropped:cantstop: Maybe they looked at his shocking economy rate and tragic fielding and axed him
fineleg Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 How did Saha figure in ODI squad :dontknow: He is not a power finisher Before WC2011, we should have tried Uthappa in this NZ ODI series as keeper-batsman.
