This is funny because the only time America features in the UK top Gear, is when the hosts make fun of them. :giggle: It is very hard to pull off a Top-gear style program, a combo of humor and fast cars. That probably explains the near monopoly of this program. As surprising as this might sound, 95% of Top Gear is scripted, but Jeremy, James and Richard somehow manage to make it seem spontaneous, real and of course hilarious. It is a very hard act to follow. I watched one episode of the Aussie top Gear just to check it out and it wasn’t funny at all. The humor segment that featured in that program (they drove a tractor through the city streets) seemed so obviously scripted and pre-determined. Essentially, Top Gear – the Spontaneous humor = Just another car show, which is what the American program will become. But you never know. P.S; I am so incensed that they didn’t screen Top Gear this fall. I was especially looking forward to their Christmas presents segment. A few years, Jeremy just stuck a BMW badge to some dog poop and sold it for 200 quid. :cantstop:
