Bradman99 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 What and you think there would have been good attendances for the tests? Attendances in oz for tests has been poor at times' date=' just thought would burst the bubble of how great attendances and atmnosphere is in oz.[/quote'] They would of been better. I think the fact we had a lot of players out of those ODI's played a pretty big part.
Gunner_Mania Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 ^ Also the fact that people are more likely to spend money on the main course than the appetizers ;)
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 This is the best Hattrick I have seen. Thanks for sharing Zodiac.
Cricketics Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 King Tendulkar, when a big series like Ashes is about to happen in few weeks, you can't expect citizens of a country to buy and spend money on Australia's test games against Lanka. They would rather spend money on ashes. Still they end up turning to ground. Unlike some Indian venues, where they host test matches and people only turn up when they hear India is batting. It's not that it's our Fault that Indians don't turn up to the ground, it's just that you gotta appreciate and agree that there are more test cricket fans ready to watch test cricket with passion in Austral than compared to India.

Aussie attendances for non ashes tests have become very poor recently. They even ban tv coverage in place were game is held in desperate attempt to boost attendances. I am sure total attendance for test series in India are better then a lot of attendances in oz now. And as for people praising commmetators, O PLEASE.....! They are all right in their fake enemy ashes pat each other on back ashes series. When other no ashes tour then comms are a disgrace. England attendances in england for all their tests is superb. I give credit to them but aussies aint in same league
cowboysfan Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 hurrah for England for filling up their liliput stadiums.

Aussie attendances for non ashes tests have become very poor recently ------- Thats just a LIE. Either back this up with proper statistics and facts or shut the **** up. 2. They even ban tv coverage in place were game is held in desperate attempt to boost attendances -------- Again, another LIE. This is done ONLY in the city where the test is played and that ONLY happens when the day is not sold out. Its done to encourage people to come to the stadiums and enjoy the experience, which I can tell you is a x10000000000000000 better than watching it on the idiot box.

Just look at the rows and rows of empty seats in loads of matches in oz, including recent SL odis and 2020 matches which were pathetic, but conviently brushed under carpet by oz fanatics by saying fans were saving money or that apparently its cos they were not tests:haha: 2. In reagrds to this thats what I said!!!! Put a test match day 1 of massive series in Eden Gardens, then you will see a proper full atmosphere

Ram Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 If KT wants to make a case that test cricket is dying in Australia, I wonder what he makes of other countries like Zimbabwe (where its been ages since a test match was played..), or Pakistan (which plays its 'home' tests in England and Abu Dhabi), or Sri Lanka (where the maximum audience for a day's worth of test cricket are the security guards and 2 stray dogs) or West Indies (which has trouble filling its stadia up even LoIs.) or New Zealand (where even sell-out T20s are a big thing..) or finally, even India (where test matches play to mostly empty seats apart from a few select centres..).:hysterical: If he thinks the status of test cricket in Australia is in trouble because they sell-out ONLY Ashes tests, what about these other countries where, forget selling out, test cricket does not even SELL, at all? :winky:

After England, Australia probably the have most prolific turn-outs for test matches. Of course, for a country of only 20 million people and stadias as big as mini islands, it is literally impossible to sell-out every single match. But if you take the number of people who cross the gates to watch a cricket match in Australia proportional to its populations versus the same number for other countries, then the Aussies will win hands down.

But as soon as a few peopl finally turn out on mass for a test match in oz, then posters then priase them which is fine then in next breath condemn Indias grounds/attendances at matches. Aussies decline in attendances is well documented. It seems strange that no one wants to mention the pathetic attendances for SL when it did seem like one man and his dogs and SLs. So it seems auusies have great attendances when they play england but then others?? I have seen many half empty stadiums in oz when India tour despite the hype of oz delusionists. Indias attendances are on par with oz attendances imo. I repeat put a massive day 1 test against oz in Eden Gardens and the place would be packed and rocking. Fine praise aussies if you must but why have posters then said o india attendances are poor. Or pitch in auusies are great in india awful. Commenatotrs in oz brillinat but India no good blah blah. Loads of posters with misplaced lack of confidenece. Next posters will say Aussies are bettter team then us, some are even saying their spinner is good:hmmm:
King Tendulkar Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 And lets talk about tv viewers. In england people love going to grounds. But they dont watch on TV as much. Indians less like attending sports but viewing is very high.
EnterTheVoid Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Can you back up your ABSOLUTELY NONSENSE of poor test match attendances with some proper facts and figures Not interesting in reading moronic opinions disguised as facts.
King Tendulkar Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I can see with my eyes when other teams have toured the rows and rows of empty seats. Just post some footage of SL tour, see the masses of empty seats, or are you saying those games were well attended? Have seen many previous games in oz like this. I have no official stats to back them up, do you have facts and figures on indias attendances? If they are so well attended why do the ban tv covergae in city game is being played.

You get very sensitive about your beloved oz. This is a new world order mate not 20 years ago, deal with it. India has the best team, most money, attracts oz players to our domestic league, India has most cricket power as well. Deal with new world order

Shocking Bah, thats a pretty piss poor attempt. Show that there is a trend and test matches audiences are declining year after year. Not pull out some obscure story and claim that is the case for every match.
