CSK Fan Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 swann against india, @ 40 runs per wicket if thats what constitutes a successful performer than Marcus North going at 37.78 can be considered as having a successful off spinning test career. Swann's first two wickets against dravid and gambhir were only given because it was Daryll Harper umpiring- both wickets under normal circumstances would not have been given out. Also Yuvi dealt with swann heavily on that tour and so if yuvraj can deal with his off spin at test level then it shows he cant be that great! What was Warne's average against india again? Even Sachin tendulkar did not start scoring 100s in his first few series. Swann has improved immesnely after that India series. So your point does not make sense
King Tendulkar Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 The galiticos will sort him out next year!
Ben_Swann77 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Gram Swann is now days in full form and its ODI Ranking day by jumping at Top. Swann Play also very good role in Ashes and Swann is also very dangerous player.

Serani Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 If conditions in England are as bad for batting as this summer Sehwag will be destroyed, the rest have good enough techniques to survive.

King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 No footwork batsman dont prosper in England. Well he has a ton in England already. Anderson wont be able to cope, he wont be bowling at chumps like Butt and Kaitich.
daryl1985 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 No footwork batsman dont prosper in England. Trescothick did alright if i remember correctly.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 No footwork batsman dont prosper in England. people have been saying things like this about Sehwag everytime he goes to a country outside of the sub-continent and every single time he has performed and has destroyed bowling attacks all over the world :finger: And just because England have defeated a half dead Australian team you think now they'll be able to defeat India :giggle:
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Trescothick did alright if i remember correctly.:giggle:
Serani Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Well either way it will be a battle of epic proportions, infact I might have to get some tickets for this im so excited. After the series the cricket world will stand up and agree that the mighty England are the best team on earth.

satyam1729 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 How over-rated is swann? I mean against top 4 teams( IND, SA , OZ, SL) he has not managed a series of bowling average<30 in his career ? Yet he is labelled as no.1 spinner ?
thongale Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Finally you realized? Oh, BTW, stats against BAN and ZIM and PAK don't count. First two, minnows, next one sells their matches, according to some English / Aussie fans especially, when they want to discuss stats of Murali vs Warne. We'll apply the same ****ing standards here as well.
saneindian Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Finished with an average of 37 on the Aussie tour(partly due to his performance on a raging turner) and yet was called as being successful! His challenge has started. SL are next and then India, two of the best sides that play spin. Lets see how he copes up with that. Hope Sanga, Mahela, Dilshan and Samara destroy his confidence before the India series :--D
