actually there are quite a few people who don't like Dhoni (I am one of those- but I respect him as a good player) and Vijay - people tend to think that he's not suited to ODIs (without realizing the fact that he's only played 8 ODIs and therefore has'nt had many opportunities to show that he can play well in ODIs).

So just because guys like Dravid or Kumble are quiet, it means they don't give their 100%? Its time teenagers know the difference between being agressive and commited versus showboating. If a player screams after every wicket or jumps up and down, it doesnt automatically mean they are more commited than others I dislike Bhajji becasue of his arrogance. He refuses to take other's advice, refuses to admit he might have a problem with his form, is disrespective of his opponents and behaves like a super-star without achieving the status yet. Even Sehwag is brash and straighforward but he is not an arrogant **** And this is not only true of this forum, you go to any forum or any group you fill find the same number of people criticizing Bhajji

SRT worshippers have seen their idol carry the this team over 2 decades where as Dhoni has a long way to go.I get the love for Dhoni from his fans but please don't even put the 2 in the same league.

My problem with Dhoni is firstly with his batting - honestly speaking, when I see him bat, I feel like because he has a style of batting which resembles a pehelwaan more than a batsman. He looks quite ugly while batting and has no class or elegance thats why I don't like his batting at all. Secondly, he gets too much credit for India's success. He inherited a team which was by no means weak and had players like SRT, Dravid, Laxman, Viru, UV, Zak - not a bad team to inherit IMO and yet he gets so much credit as if he's built this entire team from scratch, while actually it was Ganguly who built this team. Another problem I have is that he tends to back some chosen players again and again (Jaddu and RP Singh). I respect him as a good captain and a good (although ugly) batsman. Some people tend to think that Sachin's fans don't like Dhoni because he has received so much fame and fortune in such a short period of time - nothing can be further from the truth.

wrong. For ex. I'd the first to admit that dhoni's batting style has been ugly esp. in the test matches. I never have defended his decision to persist with jaadu for so long. Criticized him quite a few times for not going for the udrs. I think you have got it wrong.

In my opinion, in terms of overall utility for the team, in terms of changing the fortunes for the team over the last few years, in terms of playing under pressure situations in ODIs and in terms of the indispensability for the team at present, DHONI > SACHIN I never compare sachin's 21 year achievements with dhoni. have always maintained tht sachin is a miles better batsman than all his peers in the indian team both in ODIs n in Test matches.

I can't comment on the rest of the post but it did notice this in the Bangalore test. I was surprised that Dravid was so reluctant to shake the man's hand and when he did shake his hand given that he has a reputation of being a good guy.

From what i have seen and read of Dravid he has seemed like a decent guy and is certainly one of my favourite players. The incident after the Bangalore test where he reluctantly shook the hand of the fan/stadium worker just surprised me a little given how well the guy generally comes across. To be honest there may be a number of reason's for Dravid not wishing to shake that guy's hand. For example Dravid may believe that it is wrong for people to come on to the pitch after a game has finished (I think Sunil Gavaskar said after the test that he disagreed with fans coming on to the pitch). Nice story by the way.

That may be Your Opinion I dont think MSD plays any pressure only beucause of the reasons you mentioned, His Utility, He is a Leader, He is an WK and a Batsman too. Even if he Fails in One Department he can Make up in another, Hence he is hardly under as much as Pressure a Batman has to face. SRT is not Just a Batsman he is the Hope of Millions, He is Cricketing GOD To the Fans. Hence you may be the only person on this Forum who says MSD has more pressure than SRT to perform. No one really expects MSD to bail us out of trouble as much as it is expected from SRT. And talkng about Indispensability too Its debatable. No doubt MSD has changed the fortunes of the Indian Team, He is a Lucky Captain.

Well, if you ask any non Indian cricketers, most agree that Dravid is a true gentleman. I have read interviews with Ponting, Tamim, Mahela Jayawardene, Ross Taylor and KP to name a few, who have nothing but praise for this man. Also most respected cricket writers like Samit Bal, Dileep and Lawrence booth write about his nice nature. It is tough to get praise from opponents and people who are in the know like the writers have a good idea about cricketer's true nature. It is easy to come to wrong conclusions without knowing what really happens.
