Well the different rules for the ashes has led to this horrid behaviour from poning in gatting like rant. Its like his 4th offence for dissent and gets only 40% fine. Shocking jugement and carries on this diff rules policy leading to disgusting on fileld behaviour!

The free reign players have got by different rules in ahes has culimated in this disgusting on field behaviour from yob ponting. If horrid behaviour had been clamped down on in 1st test, then this incident would never have happened! If you give yobs like ponting an inch they will take a mile!

IMO this type of behavior by the Aussies will no longer be tolerated. Earlier they were the World's no 1 team and the undisputed kings of cricket but now that no longer is the case and I've got a feeling that teams won't be willing to tolerate any nonsense from them (and especially from Punter).

Slave mentality Lankan match refrees have always been soft on "goray" players.. Remember Eng-RSA series in which Sturat Broad and Anderson got away with tampering the ball..These Madugalles and Mahamanas are all 'slave mentality' match refrees..

Sydney is Pontings last test match, everyone knows that. Only fitting for a legend to bow out in style, banning him would be harsh. I found it quite sad to see someone realise their career was over and show that pathetic behaviour in trying desperately to hang on.

^you make no sense to me. If he wants go in style, he has no business taking on umpires. If you can't respect his fellow cricketers fine by me..but you can't do that to umpire. He is captain of the team and definately deserved harsh punishment. I understand when you keep winning, you tend to become arrogant, but when you down, you should atleast be humble about it.

His supposed last test next week has nothing to do with it. He does it because he thinks he can get away with it and he is right. Fkinf pathetic match officials and ICC. Just fking hope the BCCI , which has taken over only the financial side of things in the ICC, takes over it completely and unabashedly.

You bend the rules for someone just because his tenure is about to be over.

I will be watching closley for double standards from match referee!
very true, only 79 ovrs bowled today even after half an hour of extended play, this will remain a trend in the ashes..the captains must be fined/banned
