What a beast !! Really. Arguably the best fast bowler in the world. He can sort out the best batsmen in the world as we saw it in India last year and now in this match in different conditions. Wonderful bowler.

I dont know whats 'arguable' about him being the best in the world. For quite some time too. He is one of the best mixes of pace and intelligence that I have ever seen and quite easily an all time great in the making.

what a last spell by him after 25 overs bowling in the innings..he still had capability of bowling 147 after tea..a hostile spell.. by the way, what he drunk during the tea break..give some of that to Indian bowlers as well..before tea he was in low 130s and after tea..he firing with all cylinders...what a bowler..it was exciting to see him bowling like that and tense for Indian batsmen

Wasim Akram always maintained that you should judge a fast bowler by his performance post tea coz that's when they are the most tired. This guy has opened the flood gates for Saffers on both days. :hatsoff:

its not about best..its about simple action...Brett Lee's action was pretty good too...simple action helps bowler to stay balanced at the delivery stride...prevents injuries...

yeah and that is why i iike Umesh yadav..he has very simple action..no high jumps etc and can generate pace..

Not only that, for once a indian bowler isnt malnourished. He has a bit of muscle for once.

But I think he's too raw at the moment. Seems to be more of a 1-D type of a bowler. I am not saying that he should have set the world on fire but he did not make any impact whatsoever. Agreed that the pitch was flat when he bowled and everyone else struggled but you can sense some things about bowlers when looking at them and sadly I did not get any such vibes. Thats's my opinion though....

did you watch challenger trophy final? did you watch some of his bowling in IPL. he may be nervous on debut...but he has certain potential..he can move it both ways that is a good thing too which i saw in challenger trophy final..main thing whether he can learn quickly at the international stage, maintain his fitness level, can he be mentally strong or have a big heart which is a big problem in Indian pacers and bowling in the nets as much as he can...coz it will make your action better and you will not lose it as many Indian bowlers do after they become famous..like Sreesanth and Ishant..and heartless Munaf I accept he is raw, but if he will not play..he will stay raw...i do not think he can learn the traits by continuously playing plate league ranjis where vidarbha is one of the weakest team...he would do much better if he plays for Mumbai much better and safe fielding and batting side than vidarbha

I acknowledge whatever you say but then, most of our bowlers seem to be having high potential on the domestic scene. The list is endless VRV, Avishkar Salvi(he was compared to McGrath) and so on. But its when they actually come on to the scene is when we come to know of their worths. Agreed that he might have been nervous on day 2 but what I saw on day 3 did not impress me either. The pitch might have been flat but we did not get to see any sense of discipline or penetration from him. I know I am being over critical of a 19 year old but this is what I feel. You got to show some kind of control. When Irfan debuted he had a zip about his bowling, RP did fabulously in Pakistan and so did Sreesanth and Ishanth. Though most of the above bowlers also faded away but you could say they had potential. Jaydev needs to step up his skill by a nothc or 2 IMO.

Atm he is right arm over "anywhere". He is a prospect but I would give him a season of county cricket.

x2, in my opinion the un-noticed all time great in our midst. His strike rate is streets ahead of Waqar's...who set the standard. And this in an era where the bat is dominating the ball to a ridiculous degree. 10 for in Aussie to win the series and 10 for in India to draw a series, both the most intimidating away tours going. The guy is class.
