Pujara and Vijay are definitely ahead of him right now. But I do feel that instead of recalling him for one dayers all these months, he should have been given a chance in test matches. Has got everything needed to be a very good test match batsman. If ony someone could advise him to work on his fitness and shot selection.

He had his chance to stake his claim for a test place, he blew it others took the chance. He may have piled up the runs in FC, but that still doesnt mean he will get picked up before Pujara/Kohli. He will have to wait his turn. Mind you IF Yuvraj manages to turn around his focus meanwhile, he will be in queue before Rohit.

Rohit is way more suited for test cricket than ODI cricket. It is a mistake that the selectors continue to take him in to ODI squads now and then instead of tests. IMO, Rohit is tailor made for T20 Cricket as well as Test Cricket but somehow a misfit for ODI format.

Vijay and Rohit are not really competitors Id have thought are they? Im not sure Rohit is a test no 3, though he might play there for Mumbai; and Pujara is probably the most likely to take that no 3 slot once Dravid is retired. Rohit could bat at 4 or 5 where Pujara aside his rivals would be Kohli and Rahane. Id think all of those three are ahead of him in the queue, I hope so anyway.

He is a kid, Do you not thing youngsters have ability to improve on weaknesses eg mental weakness? Do not be so quick to write of youth with amazing talent. Especially when they are making runs for fun in domestic cricket. Also his last odi knock was decent

Rohit will have to wait till Dravid retires and Pujara completely takes over Dravid's position, then Rohit can make a claim for Raina's slot (with stiff competition from Rahane).... continue piling em in the domestic scene till then..
