These pitches are not a surprise, even before tour to SA, every thread on ICF was talking about the grass, bounce, pace etc. So, the team should be expecting this from a hostile SA.

I expected a much better show from India :(( I expected them to score at least 300-350 after getting a reasonably good start at 40 odd for one, the big names just didn't turn up :(

Its shambolic performance in this series by India. Yes, we lost the toss. Still folding for 136 at Centurion and 205 at Durban is nothing but shambolic.

Runs scoring is not gonna easy on these tracks..its our bowlers who have to give competition to SA bowlers..our bowlers are talented..though not as pacy as Steyn or Morkel but if they pitch the bowl on the right spot they will certainly get something from the pitch...after what these bowlers had done in england, new zealand and Australia..i had thought we can at least give a good fight to them..at least draw the series if not win... If we had Steyn or Morkel in our side, we certainly would have won...but its not we have once in a blue moon Sreesanth:nervous:

Day 2 discussion - what a day!!! starting with the usual comment to warn off the tards: serious discussion only. no knee-jerk bullshit. stay the **** out of my thread if u dont have anything meaningful to contribute. thanx now, where to begin!! one of the most exciting days of test cricket i have seen in a while. the pitch more than held up from yesterday, so the coin toss was rendered completely irrelevant as expected. in relaton to what was said earlier by some poster, if a pitch in india produced 18 wickets in a day, there would be an outrage but here its acceptable. what hypocrisy. at the end of the day, turning track or green top, a bowler friendly wicket is always acceptable. the best thing about this pitch and similar bowler friendly wickets aorund the world is that they take cheap runs and crappy batting out of the equation completely. tailenders havent got a chance in hell of suriving. so its top 6 vs top 6. that said, u can see why india's 205 was a decent score. the saffie commentators brought up luck whenever possible, and yes its true india had a bit of luck when they were bowling - the kallis run out was a huge chunk of that luck. but you really cant say the score doesnt reflect the quality of india's bowling. zaheer was absolutely incredible. u can see why he is averaging 22 this year. swings the ball both ways, deadly accurate...and most importantly, makes batsmen respect him. graeme smiff has become his bunny, no doubt about it. zaheer looked like getting him out on every single ball. india will wreck every single batting lineup they face with zaheer in this kind of form. sreesanth was a worthless piece of crap in his first spell, and totally wasted the new ball. was a completely different bowler in the 2nd spell just before lunch. much more accurate, stuck to the off stump channel and didnt stray down leg side and wasnt pitching it up stupidly. but i still want ishant opening the bowling tomorrow. wickets are earned by pressure built from both ends and sreesanth isnt disciplined enuff indian batsmen are holding their own but keep making the same mistakes, not getting forward enough and in some cases, being too overaggressive...which definitley wasnt reqd today with the loads of time left in the game. its clear that they spent too much time preparing for the short pitched stuff but all the wickets are coming from away swinging full length deliveries that the batsmen dont get forward to. laxman and pujara's batting was probably the best we've seen in the whole series so far in this regard. fears are that the pitch is gonna be easier to bat on but i dont think this is true. the only variable factor here is the wind, the bounce is always gonna be there and this is what goes in favour of the indian bowlers in the 4th innings. any target over 200 could be tricky to chase. whatever they do, they must get AMLA early. this guy is in amazing touch, every single boundary he hit yesterday was incredible to watch.

unlike most i was not impressed by pujara ; i thought he was lucky to be even around as long as he did but then i really hope he does justice to the potential he has shown in domestic cricket. Also i dont think it was that a bad toss to lose; we survived the first 10 overs though vijay struggled though the whole innings but with a little better application we should not have lost more than 3 wickets; SA when they come out to bat will score 500+ on this wicket
