He is emotional, believes in an eye for an eye and gives as good as he gets. His captain smiles when he gets pelted by bottles and asks him to go back and field on the boundary. The opposition captain sees him as a genuine threat to his side and failing to win one to one verbal battles, asks his adversary's own skipper to clip his wings. He obliges. His country's media, looking for some cheap headlines, calls him a crybaby. Misunderstood player. Great patriot. Wears his emotions on his sleeve. Unfortunate to be born in a country of apologists. Some of you guys are just...spineless. Go and achieve something in life before criticizing a guy who's done India proud on this tour.

I didn't watch match live yesterday so no sure if something happened on field yesterday. All I know is a press conference where Dhoni made some comment on Sree. Nothing more than that.
ViruRulez Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Sree has got great talent but is extremely moody and temperamental and that destroys his talent. He overreacts to situations and takes things to his heart very easily. He needs to tone down his emotions. He is the best Indian fast bowler after Zak and I would rate him higher than Nehra too but he never controlled his temper and hence never made it big. He would have been bigger than Zak too if he had concentrated on his cricket and kept his emotions in control. Today also I saw that he was bubbling words after his bowling as if he was cursing someone. He needs to mature enough and control himself. I really hope he rectifies his emotional problems as he is our last remaining hope of a good supporting bowler to Zak. Even after Zak's retirement we would need a good fast bowler to lead the attack and Sree is the only quality pacer except Zak left in India IMO.

I am a huge MSD guy and I like the way he runs the team overall. However I have an issue here. If I take this report at face value because you never know these days what gets my goat is MSD taking Smith's word and assuring him at the function and then in turn goes on to caution SS which is rather weak. What the hell was that getting into your players head as the skipper of the team before an important Test. I would have had more respect for him if he genuinely as the skipper felt that SS needs to be talked to and toned down rather than take an opponent's word who themselves were giving a mouthful to SS and other Indian players. I think MSD needs to learn to be more hard nosed with the opponent than play goody goody with them. This is not a love fest for god's sake. This is very unfortunate to say the least again going by the reports and assuming they are correct.

It's funny that when Sreesanth was sledging, even his own captain didn't defend him yet where did Dhoni's balls go when Boucher was spouting crap at Zaheer and Sreesanth, calling them "Disgraceful". That's why I'll always rate Ganguly over this Gandhi-wannabe. :headshake:

Dhoni's handling of Sree We all can agree that Dhoni's handling of this situation has been pretty bad especially reprimanding him to keep Smith happy. These SA players are an arrogant bunch and don't need any appeasement. Regarding the antics, some of you guys feel it is necessary for him to bowl aggressively, some of us feel he can keep things under check and still learn to do well so that he doesn't make a fool of himself and of Indians in general, cause a lot of antics don't show aggression, rather stupidity.

He was blabbering something even when he was passing by the umpires and did not even look towards the umpire when he was telling him third bouncer in the over. He needs to improve his temperament as he might not get another chance. He is a great bowler but his temperament has still not changed and he is still too moody for a cricketer or even a normal person. He needs to rectify himself as I would not like to lose a quality bowler like him again this time especially when we are already in huge scarcity of quality fast bowlers and no new quality pacers are emerging.
