Basically defensive tactics by the captain. But then again he was never aggressive. Lack of intensity from bowlers in last two session really cost India. We might regret losing this golden opportunity. This is the difference between the good teams and great teams. India didn't pounce on the game when SA were down for the count.

Correct. The difference in this game was after SA were down to 6 wickets Kallis/Boucher batted them out of trouble while our bowlers couldn't get the job done. Even when we got Boucher out the next wickets cost us 100 or so runs. Usually Zaheer with his reverse swing goes through the tail enders quickly but he was carrying an injury and Ishant is incapable of taking steady wickets. Sree lost intensity after his appeals were turned down and the crowd incident. No amount of field placings, bowling changes is going to make the bowlers take wickets. At some point they have to bowl better but I have to give SA credit. They bat very well at home and did enough in crucial situations to deserve the 300 plus runs.

Dhoni is surely better than Smith and he is the best we have as of now .. rest all is speculation and depends on the team rather than him .. for example, Pwnting was regarded as one of the best captains ever a few years ago but everybody is cursing his captaincy now .. so a captain is only as good as his team ... Dhoni brings team unity and that is important as everyone plays as an unit

Forgot so soon. After the WC 2007 , when everything/everyone was down and sad, the t20 world cup, aussie series where everyone expected us to return back to India asap.

His major test so far in his career was on this Tour, and the way he handled Shreshant am sure after the Legends retire his fall will be Like Pwnting. Many more tests to come in Future given the way he has failed in Man Management am sure he will fail once the legends retire. But the sad thing is that there are not good enough people to challenge him for the spot.

right. I think dhoni has been the 2nd best captain in the history of cricket in terms of w/l ratio (14/3) after only bradman. Add to that indias brilliant odi record in his reign plus the T20 world cup.

u stooges really post some real **** sometimes nobody is calling him a bad captain or anything like that. his record speaks for itsef but what u stooges need to remember is a captain is only as good as his team, and in all honesty, dhoni could get more out of this side, especially in situations where india is in a position of strength, i.e 130/6 on day 4 of a series deciding test
