Sad news, but he leaves us in good shape. Now we know exactly what kind of a coach is good for our team. We don't need a taskmaster, just need someone who works well behind the scene...tweaking the mental aspects of our players and letting them play their natural games. Rajput will be a good temporary replacement at least. Don't think Flower would be interested, but we can always approach him. We can get Kumble and Ganguly :P LOL

He may just want to leave on a high note with the Indian Test team firmly in #1 and a (decently) good showing in SA too. There are also reports that Gary Kirsten may get offered a coach role by one of the IPL teams after he takes a break for a year or so. Will Dhoni get him for Chennai Super Kings?

Kirsten's coaching is overrated....we didn't do anything different that we were doing before he came in. Did India's fielding improve dramatically in this period....Do you think he gave batting tips to Sach,Dravid,VVS,Sehwag,Gauti?Our bowling resources look weaker than what they were in 2007-2008 before his tenure. What exactly is Kirsten's contribution during his India stint?
