Playing a half fit Viru in an attempt to cover up for the disater at auctions will not work. Viru should go and get the surgery done as the injury clearly is clearing hampering him. The staff and the management should look at the bigger picture and not think short term. Maybe ask Viru to opt out and replace him with Dada as captain. Last night he said that DD is lacking a world class spinner and Nadeem is the only decent one, the rest of the spinners in the team are not up to the standard. You mean to say he had no say about whom he wanted during the auctions? Blaming the Management is easy, Veeru can not absolve himself totally. he probably did not even bother involving himself in the matters of team selection and read about the bought players the next day in a newspaper. If he has no leverage with the Management then he is weak Captain anyways! Thats incorrect. Viru was appointed the DD captain only in 2nd week of Feb , a whole month after the auctions. Remember even in IPL 3, he had not led the DD team instead asking the D management to let GG be the captain.
