dr_tooley
I find it funny that the Indians seem more confident of us winning than the Australians! I'll state it again. Current world champions Current Champions trophy winners Current world ranked no1 in ODI. Just handed England's backsides to them in the MCG. The fear is not without justification. Link to comment
rkt.india
England...because of their bowling attack that will suite these conditions Australia--because of their experience of big tournaments and still have enough talent to win South Africa-they are very balanced side India-Strong batting line up if all are fit Srilanka-SL is always competent in subcontinent Link to comment
Chalks
Australia's group is a joke. Only other decent team in it is Lanka - the rest (Pak, NZ, Ken, Can and Zim) are rubbish. If Aus beat Lanka, not only will they top the group comfortably, but they'll carry a 35-match unbeaten run in WCs into the quarters. Compare that with the other group - Ind, RSA, Eng, WI, Ban, Ire, Ned. Three of the favourites, three dangerous floaters, and the Netherlands who very nearly embarrassed us in the opening match in 03. :yikes: If we can somehow top our group, we can go all the way to the final (with our propensity for choking in finals, winning is a different matter altogether). Castro
Australia have a very formidable odi team and will look to prove they are still number one in this world cup, you can never rule them out. Link to comment
dr_tooley
The next ODI against England will be crucial. If they beat England again, all bets are off. Link to comment
diegovegaz
tait, lee, doug, johnson are a great bowling attack and if shaun marsh, watson, white have a good day, no stopping them mind you, the hussey brothers can't be discounted either Link to comment
dr_tooley
The Aussies show why they've won 4 world cup and England Zero. And some how England are favorites. Bit like the IPL teams I'd take the Aussies any day of the week - to paraphrase Darren Gough. Link to comment
rkt.india
it does? why are they so **** in odis in the subcontinent in recent matches then? they cannot compete against India until they bat very well...but their bowling is better than other teams like Aus and SA in Indian conditions and against those teams....and they last played an ODI in India 2 years back since then they have improved a lot especially with Anderson, Broad, and Swann...it all comes to their batting now Link to comment
gaurav92
These Aussies are pretty used to winning world cups, so its gonna be tough to beat them. Link to comment
