kabira Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 3 ODIs to go. We need to try out few things. 1. When they take Batting powerplay, lot of pressure on the batters. if wicket falls, don't send another batsman, instead sent it Bhajji or Zaheer khan. It may work, it may not, they may get us quick 10-15..you never know. 2. I wish Sehwag was not injured. I would have tried him in middle order. We should try him before the knock out games, He is most equipped to move spinners and also Power plays. 3. Ashwin bowling in power plays and death overs 4. Zaheer Khan bowling in middle overs, from 25 to 35..he may get some reverse swing.
spectre Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Raina and Yuvraj have to bat up the order and get some good hits. These two are going to be critical for WC. Ashwin should play rest of the games and bowl in PPs Yusuf Pathan should play @ No.6 or 7
Superman Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Most Important thing is to find out who will bowl in the death overs, This is a big weakness of Indian team.
kabira Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 another powerplay and flurry of wickets. I think we should think about sending bhajji or Zak if we lose wicket in power play atleast in intial overs.
King Tendulkar Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I got an idea which has not been tried for 2 years. Lets try playing a god dammn odi game without Nehra
spectre Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 :hysterical: i can understand your frustration I got an idea which has not been tried for 2 years. Lets try playing a god dammn odi game without Nehra
Online Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I got an idea which has not been tried for 2 years. Lets try playing a god dammn odi game without Nehra :dito:
cowboysfan Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 they change the ball after 35 overs in every match.I would like to see Ashwin play a game and some early WC games too.
pensionplan Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I got an idea which has not been tried for 2 years. Lets try playing a god dammn odi game without NehraSoon in about 2 months time we will be playing ODI's without Tendulkar for ever. How about that? Ha..Hoo..

Now if Bhajji gets out in the power play and then Zak walks out. And then we are left with the likes of Dhoni, UV, Raina , YP coming in as our tail at number 7,8,9,10 :haha::haha::haha: 2. What bakwaas idea? Now you want the best opener in the world to play in the middle order? are you out of your mind? 3. I think Bhajji and our pacers are doing well in the power plays and death. Ashwin is wayyyy too inexperience to bowl at death. People need to stop making a big deal out some new guys like Ashwin and Pujara. Some people treat them as legends :haha: (remember legendary Nohit?) 5. Zak can bowl anywhere and make an impact.
kabira Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 1. so let's say, if one of our batsmen get out in the power play and Bhajji walks out. What bakwaas idea? Now you want the best opener in the world to play in the middle order? are you out of your mind? He is best opener in ODI?? He will be more useful in middle overs. Gambhir and Tendulkar are our best openers, both can play long innings. 3. I think Bhajji and our pacers are doing well in the power plays and death. Ashwin is wayyyy too inexperience to bowl at death. People need to stop making a big deal out some new guys like Ashwin and Pujara. Some people treat them as legends (remember legendary Nohit?) Again, you don't understand cricket...title said it, need to try it. Ashwin has done well in powerplay overs.
flamy Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I think Chawla will play 5th match and get clobbered. :nice:
urbestfriend Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Rest Bhajji and Vijay for next match and try Ashwin and Chawla. Very important to get some match practice for these two before WC. Kohli must open with Sharma.
saneindian Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Nothing to try. WIn the damn ODI series now. This is a golden chance for us. Our young team winning a ODI series vs SA in SA would be the biggest morale booster before the WC. We tried so many things before the 2007 WC (Gambhir, Uthappa as openers/no 3, Sachin at 4, mixing our spinners etc) in those series vs SL and WI and then came a cropper in the WC as players were clueless about their roles. This time keep the things that have been working as they are, win the ODI series, take a rest of 2 weeks and then have a 5 day prep camp before the WC practice matches and we should be ready to go. One change that is needed is to replace Vijay with PaPa.
King Tendulkar Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Soon in about 2 months time we will be playing ODI's without Tendulkar for ever. How about that? Ha..Hoo.. Sachin troll alert.
Andy Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Sachin troll alert. Dont feed the troll. He has been trolling all over ICF since he joined.. BTW heard Sehwag will not be bowling at the WC. Is that true?
Watson87 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Dont feed the troll. He has been trolling all over ICF since he joined.. BTW heard Sehwag will not be bowling at the WC. Is that true? Why would Sewag's bowling be a concern? He's there in the team to bat. Other bowling quotas can be dealt with Raina and Yuvi.
Andy Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Why would Sewag's bowling be a concern? He's there in the team to bat. Other bowling quotas can be dealt with Raina and Yuvi. Well he is a Good offspinner. His bowling would have been handy in subcontinental conditions. Given we'll play 4 specialist bowlers.
Watson87 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Well he is a Good offspinner. His bowling would have been handy in subcontinental conditions. Given we'll play 4 specialist bowlers. I think he is just recovering from a shoulder or muscle strain so would be a bad call, in sub pitches Yuvi and Raina will be more than handy. on a different note amit mishra is very sad because of his exclusion of wcup, showed his sadness via twitter. lhe said something like he can't figure out why he was excluded. poor guy
