The Pathan Bomb Strikes Again

YP inngs can boost a modest total of 270 (in subcontinent) to 300+ ... and YP is a damn hard hitter against spinners (Most of the teams wud play spinners in Sub continent pitches)... he can be also deadly against medium pacers (as we saw him going after K Mills recently)... therefore YP wud be an important factor for us...
With all the hitters/builders above him, will YKP even get enough overs to do the hitting? Will MSD send him up the order to accelerate if we only have a few overs, with wickets to spare? If we use him to up the scoring, then he can be useful. I don't expect him to play match winning innings like today when the heat is on in a WC game. Now, regarding Kohli, if we lose early wickets, he can be a steadying factor, much better than the likes of Gambhir or Yuvraj or anyone else barring SRT.

Same argument can be used for Pathan's inclusion too. Do we really want to play a good bat like Raina at #7? Raina is a match winner and he should play at least at #6. Rarely #7 gets to show his skills and more often than not it is hit or get-out situations which is more suited for Pathan. Of course with his economical bowling Pathan adds good balance to the team.

I also think YP would held the edge over Kohli in the final XI of WC for his aggressive and match winning ability .. sorry for Kohli as he has been a consistent performer but hope he gets chances again after the world cup

Kohli who has appetite to score big runs, even while chasing, brilliant fielder, far more consistent than Pathan can ever be. He will be in XI. I would want him to bat at 3 Sachin Gambhir Kohli Yuvraj sehwag Dhoni Raina

Well I do agree that Raina at #7 is a total waste of his talent.

He doesn't need many overs to do that... does he?? Analyise batting line if Kohli Included... !!! SRT VIRU GG Kohli UV Raina MSD Bhajji Zak PK/Nehra Munna We are having No. 3 and No. 4 as one dimensional batsman... and I am not sure Kohli is good at No.4 as its certain that SRT and Viru wud open and GG is at No 3 (this is the best combo + tested) UV is best at No 4. followed by Raina at no.5 and MSD at 6. I am not sure if its an ideal lineup... Kohli is waste at no. 4 ... i think its better to keep him in reserves to replace top 3 if at all only one is injured. Btw... MSD can use YP as a floater During PP...

We all don't know about Sehwag. His 30s and 40s will not help us at top of the order. ideally top 3 should be the ones who can anchor the innings atleast one of them to be there until 40-45th over. Thats I feel its best to play Sehwag in middle overs. Kohli at 3 is best.

Yusuf played good knock, but it was very chancy know. Any good number 7 batter could have won the game for us, with sensible batting. Yusuf is impact player. I am not sure if can come at 7 when we have run a ball chase and play sensibly instead of going all out for bounderies and sixies..

Yuppo has his bowling going for him' date=' which would be extremely unfair to Kohli. If YP needs to play then Yuvi needs to sit out[/quote'] certainly. i dont see why yuvi should be a lock, especially with his lackluster form.

Yusuf Pathan has to be included in the final XI. The guy completely changes the way other bowlers and the opposition think. Just look at how Pathan completely forced Smith to alter his bowling plans to keep using his frontline pacers to try and get him out at the cost of not having those choices later in the final overs. But Pathan is a luxury batsmen. He's great in the side if the rest of the team is batting well because he's BEST suited to come in the final 10 overs and slog away. Kohli is also is undeniable form and his fielding is top draw. It's going to be very interesting to see what the final 11 turns out to be.

In the lineup' date=' UV is the only one who is not in form, rest everyone is.[/quote'] come the World Cup and he'll also be in form. You just can't drop such proven performers for such a big tournament.

UV in form would be bluddy awesome, but I want our team to field 11 studs, and if UV is not in form, he should be replaced.
