Guest Hiten. Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Nobody says a word against Rohit..He is now an honourable :mi: player.. "Spot Laga Denge Eik Eik Ko".. Why is it so hard for you guys to keep IPL related posts away from Cricket talk when we've decided to keep IPL forum throughout the clock ?
asterix Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Why is it so hard for you guys to keep IPL related posts away from Cricket talk when we've decided to keep IPL forum throughout the clock ? Hiten, that was just a sarcastic post. Many other members post IPL teams logos and do banter in Cricket section, just for fun. Why you and few other Mods always appear to have very short fuse? You think you guys only know forum moderation and are the only guys moderating forum on Internet? Forum moderation mein yeh haal hain, forum administration karoge tho kya hoga?
The Outsider Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 Never ever ever write of a young player with ability. He is 23 for gods sake and posters are saying RIP Sharma!! He has scored loads of runs in domestic cricket Firstly, he doe not look slim or fit. Secondly, at least I am not writing him off. He is an extremely capable batsman. However, for me the point has come where his selection should not only be contingent on how he does in domestic cricket, but he should be selected only after the likes of Rahane and Pujara have had a fair run in the side. Even Nehra would have done better with the bat.
IKnowU Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Firstly, he doe not look slim or fit. . Please dont talk about fitness when you dont know what being fit means. Looking skinny and lanky doesnt = being fit. Fitness is more then just how you look. :headshake: Compare Raina and Rohit next to each other, Raina will look like a balloon next to him, but that doesnt mean hes not fit? Fitness is about endurance, coordination, balance, power and agility and other aspects. I can name players in the current squad who lack plenty in those areas. This is also coming from my personal experience. All this bs about fitness amongst armchair experts is :hysterical:
fineleg Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Send him to English country cricket. BCCI should ban him and Raina from IPL in order to save their careers :two_thumbs_up:

What do I know - there is probably special phiitness power in his love handles.
The Outsider Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 BTW, what endurance, coordination, agility, balance and power have you seen in Sharma? I am curious to know. :rotfl:
fineleg Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 BTW' date='[b'] what endurance, coordination, agility, balance and power have you seen in Sharma? I am curious to know. :rotfl: :haha:
IKnowU Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 BTW' date=' what endurance, coordination, agility, balance and power have you seen in Sharma? Kohli and Dhoni would be the only ones the closest among reaching all those. What do I know - there is probably special phiitness power in his love handles. :idunno: Only you would know.
The Outsider Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Not all - show me 3/5 traits you mentioned. Others might not have them, but they score runs.
yoda Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Well he endured enough to score tons of runs in domestics. I think he is just not able to cope with international bowling.
IKnowU Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Not all - show me 3/5 traits you mentioned. Others might not have them' date=' but they score runs.[/quote'] Balance, Coordination and Power But you can say endurance and agility is more important especially if you are a bowler.
IKnowU Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I think he is just not able to cope with international bowling. No. He just cant be mentally prepared to face the pressure on the international stage. When he plays in domestic and IPL, he plays like hes facing school boy attacks. We all know, if he overcomes his mental aspect it would do him a world of good. Thats why hacks like yusuf, raina and co outperform players like Rohit because even if they lack talent they make up with it by being able to handle the pressure. Even Pujara seems to show some mental lapses imo. Thats why its important to recognise that and not throw bs excuses like fitness and motivation problems :headshake:
IKnowU Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Thats why I think the selectors are persisting with him, because its just mere mind over matter issue for Rohit and were hoping he breaks away from that. But he didnt and he probably blew his chance this series and wont be considered again for a while.

Yusuf Pathan is able to score at SR of 150 on world class attacks in difficult conditions..... Do you think Rohit Sharma can ever do what Yusuf Pathan can do.... Score that many sixers and fours that easily in a cricket match... and accelerate at will as Yusuf or Viru can do? Pujara has shown lot of promise in the test series even if he did not make big scores.. He withstood for so many balls in the field with loads and loads of patience particularly in Durban test match even though he scored very few runs... Do you think Rohit Sharma has the patience to play that many balls and still remain NOTOUT in a match? Rohit Sharma does not seem to be a major hitter nor a Dravid kinda player... >he is somewhere between and not useful to our team India if he performs like he did in this series

Im not taking anything away from Pujara, he is a much better candidate then Kohli, Rahane or Rohit in tests. But people are ready pull the plug the minute their tolerance levels drop on any given player. Just look at the other thread, where they are talking about dropping Raina from the XI for WC :hysterical: Do you think Rohit Sharma has the patience to play that many balls and still remain NOTOUT in a match? His domestic performances says otherwise to what your trying to imply. Rohit Sharma does not seem to be a major hitter nor a Dravid kinda player... >he is somewhere between and not useful to our team India if he performs like he did in this series No **** sherlock. ANy player would be useless with those kind of performances. Saying rohit cant play shots!! :hysterical::hysterical:

Forum moderation mein yeh haal hain, forum administration karoge tho kya hoga? Sarcastic post or not. IPL is a month based league and all the gimmicks related to IPL should be too monthly based OR should be continued in IPL forum (which is why we have a separate forum for it, don't we ?). Read my post again and you'll understand I did not specifically target you for spamming cricket talk forum with IPL logos and what not. And do not tell me how moderation works, when and if, you get a chance you can do it then. Till then abode our current policies.
Chaos Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 idiot looks like he just swallowed a effin pig...
Bumper Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Today's innings showed why Rohit is no good for international cricket. I mean how much more brainless can one get ? I dont think he is as talented as he is made out to be. The real talents that I have seen know how to weather the storm, especially when they are not batting well. SRT, Ganguly, Dravid, Dhoni, Yuvraj etc have all done that many times in their careers. Chasing 250 & out of form, Rohit's first priority should have been to survive the initial overs, get to 30 odd & then try to accelerate. Instead the dud was playing expansive drives & cuts starting ball #1. He played 8 friggin deliveres before chopping the ball on to his stumps playing one of his ambitious drives. Total idiot. A typical T20 player! (that is what he wants anyways) Don't waste your time following Rohit, he's finished. I hope he does not come back. India would do better with a player who wants the Indian jersey a tad bit more.
