35 is not good enough for an opener. The strike rate is something which can me made up later in the innings or by the late ordr players. But an average of 35 means he fails more often than succeeds
35 is not bad either. Besides, his ODI stats have improved recently. In the last three years he averages 47 with a strike rate of 124. Yeah, both his average and SR have gone up sharply.

If every batsmen aim the same as Sehwag then what will happen to all bowlers??:((
don't worry, there are still batsmen like Afridi - so bowlers will always have their chances to take wickets :two_thumbs_up:

It's good enough to be in the playing 11. He is the best in our team to consistently give rolicking starts. Thats why he gets to play every ODI with not so great odi average. He would have been easily replaced by someone like Uthappa or some other dude who could average 2 runs more then him had he not been scoring at the strike rate which he does. He is special at the top, thats why no one is able to get a chance up the order to bat. and India needs him. Dhoni won't have played him had he not be that good at the top with good starts

Forget 50 overs, even if he stays till 25-30 overs , we would be 175-200 by then and course for a 325+ total. Would love to see the Viru of 2008-09 when he was batting for long periods in ODIs and scoring consistently at a high strike rate.

Oh that he is, no doubt about that, I was just talking in terms of his actual potential and test feats. He is not a 36 batsman
