Or ask Sir John' date=' he might have them already.[/quote'] and I'll burn a DVD with England being defeated by Ireland and Bangladesh and also India being defeated by Bangladesh & Pakistan by Ireland (in 2007) for you and you can see the effect they can have and how they can perform at the biggest stage because due to the ICC's foolishness, we won't be seeing the minnows in the WC, at least not for the next 2 WCs.

I warmed to the format. Eventhough the league phase had little (could even argue against that in the case of Group B) impact on the fate of the big eight, it did bring color to proceedings. It also gave the top eight time and space to taste success and defeat, selection issues, and general media scrutiny so that by the time the QFs came along one felt there could be no excuses. Although it only required you to win 3 back to back games the format ensured the eventual winners would be deserving winners.
