In a long tourney what counts is how consistent you are, when you are able to peak and importantly how you handle the pressure in the KO games. In 1999, people wrote Australia off after it started badly in that WC. I think it went on to remain unbeaten in 8 consecutive games (including a tie). While evertone was going ga-ga over SA (and Klusener) In 2003 and 2007, Aus showed what being dangerous really is. Were consistent at peak performance right through the tournament, handled the pressure well, raised their games at the need of the hour like that Symonds 100s against Pak, Ponting's 100 against Ind In 1996, SL played a different brand of cricket to also show what being dangerous really means. They smashed all the teams they played against and instilled a fear in them. Classic example of instilling fear in opposition is when Azhar selected to bowl in the semis against them on a pitch that was suppose to get difficult for batting, mainly based on SL reputation to chase down anything in that tourney If a team is playing like that then I would classify it as really dangerous. Unfortunately, the really dangerous team hasn't revealed itself yet so it would be a mistake to write off or put a favs tag on any team atm

Anyone will look good against the likes of Zimb, Kenya, Netherlands, Ireland or B'desh. So far most of the Test teams have only played one test against another test nation which is really a small sample. Let the teams play more matches, especially the Test nations and we will get a better idea about the teams' strength and weaknesses.

Chasing 280+ (that will have to be done at some stage) will be difficult without have a top bracket batsman in the side like Inzi Sachin Ponting or Kallis. Lack a quality new ball bowler. Ajmal needs to play and perform.Rehman wont win you a crunch game. There we go...
