What happened to your premier players in Asia cup ?
oh didn't know that we were talking about ASIA CUP :--D Relax dude, stop this childish point scoring. I never claimed that Pakistan is the best team in the world.

What has that got to do with Pakistan's form in the World Cup, which is the topic of this thread? Stop derailing every thread into childish India vs. Pakistan internet flame wars.
OK fine. Then how is Indian team overhyped according to him ?

Hell!' date=' so now we are trying to hype up good for nothing warm ups [b']which btw were so important that two of our premiere players a.k.a Shahid and Razzaq didn't even feel the need to bat in it :--D Come on guys just because I have said something as a pakistani it doesn't mean that as indians its your obligation to negate it by hook or crook! :giggle:
Hmm, laugh all you want. We haven't lost a match yet. It was only a tie. We'll win against South Africa, West Indies, Ire and the Dutch. So far your team looked sharp with both bat and ball, can't really say about fielding and Kamran:winky:. Best of luck for the rest of the games, don't think you guys can pull it off against the Aussies.

well they clicked wonderfully well at those instances in the game where they should have (i.e shoaib's magical delivery to get Mahela out as well as Afridi getting Dilshan out)..Once they had done that it was always an uphill task for the lankans. As for having the advantage of bowling under the lights so even sangakar is on record saying that they should have got 277 under those conditions regardless of the playing conditions. TBH, I thought its actually Lanka who appeared to be rather ordinary on the ground despite all that hype about them playing in their own backyard. I think the two recent big matches have given us the reality check about both India and Lanka who were hyped like anything as far as that meaning-less rhetoric churned out by pseudo-intellectual of espnstar was concerned.:--D
What did you expect Sangakkara to say? That on this pitch the highest score ever chased was 270 and only 2 of 19 chases have ever been successful so we didn't have much of a chance? As for the reality-check, beating Kenya or wining against Malinga-less SL while batting first is not much. The ultimate test would be when you will have to chase under the lights in SL

Across your posts you DID biggy up Pakistan and how great Pak have looked so far, i.e. ALL OF 2 GAMES!!! In a tourney spanning month and a half and 9 games let's see what unfolds before passing judgements. Btw i am glad we got the reality check and a kick up our asses now. Would have hated for that to happen come the knock-outs. I have full faith in Dhoni and team management to make adjustments as the tourney goes on. I still remember how Dhoni managed to win IPL with only Bollinger and spinners against much fancied teams (Bangalore and mumbai). You won't see Dhoni making the same mistakes of picking Chawla or keeping men at the boundaries and gifting away free singles. So let's wait and watch - I am sure Dhoni will get his combination and strategies right before the knockouts

Srilanka lost to Pakistan. India didn't lose to England. There is a difference between a tie and a loss. Only two matches have been played, 4 other matches are left, future world champions can have an off day here and there. Glad that in our off day England could only manage a tie

Beating Kenya was no big thing. but beating SL in SL was definitely an achievement for Pakistan. Lets see the Aus game, If Pak manages to win that, they would definitely be favourites to take the cup

if they bat first they will beat Aus too , but they wont make it past semis ..there are too many mediocre players in Pak team to win 3 KO matches in a trot

So a sample size of 1 match will give you a reality check about India and Lanka? Pak played sensible cricket , the previous series in India with SL also had similar matches (300+ being scored and chased at will). Let's wait till the first round is over to start drumming up about who will win. Pak drew the ODI series with SA so are getting together as a team. SL and India are not hyped for no reason. They are playing good cricket for about a year now.

I am still not convinced by Pakistan. Kamran will mess it up somewhere. Chasing 280+ (that will have to be done at some stage) will be difficult without have a top bracket batsman in the side like Inzi Sachin Ponting or Kallis. Lack a quality new ball bowler. Ajmal needs to play and perform.Rehman wont win you a crunch game.
