Bangalore pitch : What happened to the turning track?

dude that was one of the worst pitch ever, our bowling exposed big time, can't defend 338 on flat tracks every time. England are not aussies and tackled spin quite well, even chawla got hit for sixes from tailenders. i am frikin pissed big time

i wrote here before the match started that this will not behave like the aussie warmup game.BCCI needs to give a clear indication to the curators that the pitch should have something in it for the spinners,ICC intervention or not .We cannot win 3 knockout games on pattas.

We are playing the QFs in on a really flat track @ ahmedabad.the saffers put up a huge score the last time we played on this ground.

Make the track a flat one, but it should atleast turn a bit.

at least it played consistent for 50 overs. the alternative to this kind of wicket is the usual win toss, bat 1st type pitch which becomes minefield under lights or a bowl first pitch whch is easy to bat on with dew in 2nd innings

What happened to the turning track??? During warm-up game the Bangalore pitch was turning and bouncing. What happened today? I suspect that after Smith and Ponting moaned about the "under-prepared" pitches our curators changed the pitch which clearly plays in the hands of our opponents. State associations and curators have to understand that spin is our strength and those are the kind of pitches we should have - at least for the India games. Did anyone see B'desh-Ireland game? Did you guys see how tough it was to play and score off spinners on that pitch? Why don't we go with a similar philosophy? I mean we won't be able to score 300 and may have to settle for a score of 260 or so but on a turning track with plenty of spinners, we would be able to defend such a score easily. Now we are playing on flat surfaces where good bowlers (such as Steyn) or good fielding units (most teams other than Pak) will start off with an advantage against us.

I am resigned about this.when your captain openly states that he would prefer a flat wicket knowing that spin is his team strengths then its time to just marvel at his thought process.

I would rather our batsmen struggle on turning tracks and we score around 240-250 instead of 300+ everytime. If we struggle on a turning track, imagine what would happen to English, SA and Aussie batsmen? Even today when Chawla pitched the ball in right place (unfortunately just 5-6 times the whole game) and the ball turned a bit, the Eng batsmen seemed totally clueless.

A completely flat track is very boring, there has to be some support for spin in the ground. Aussies always look for excuses when they lose a match - Underprepared pitch is just one of those excuses.

Pitch should har good turn on bounce...playing on flat wickets is not good for the game or India.
