It makes perfect sense. Zimbabwe were batting thinking it is a 50 over match. If they had known it was a 38 over match, they would have accelerated accordingly and earlier. The target was increased by only 5 runs because they had only 3 wickets in hand. If they had 6-7 wickets in hand, Pakistan might have had to chase something like 180-190 maybe.

Yes, and the logic is that if you know from beginning that the number of overs are 37, you will pace the innings accordingly. e.g. lets say team A is playing at 190-1 at end of over 35 and it rains. Now would it be fair that team B is given a target of 190 in 35 overs ? :dontknow:
