Misu243 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 First of all, not taking anything away from Andrew Strauss. His innings was absolutely a gem and thoroughly entertained me. But, did he nick it to Dhoni? As soon as he played that shot I jumped up in the air thinking it was out. I guess nobody heard the edge because of the crowd. If it was then I would say Strauss is very lucky. That was still a fully deserved MOM.

There were some glaring mistakes..He was on his way to lose this match even after having a score of 330+ runs.. He blames his bowlers and fielders and expects them to improve. IMO his captaincy has lot's scope of improvement. Just being a dumb ***** captain will not help Team India in it's WC campaign..
gaurav92 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 ^Agreed that his captaincy wasn't great, but that doesn't mean he can't improve and mind you that wasn't the easiest of grounds to defend the totals, even if it was in excess of 330, short boundaries and quick outfields. Although I was not impressed with his captaincy, I still feel England played really well to make him look ordinary.

Powerplay forced him to attack, otherwise England would have won this in a canter. In b4 vaibhav_delhi starts defending the great captaincy by MSD!

Jersey #10 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 My brother and I were shouting for a review for the edge he got very early in his innings. There was a clean and thick enough edge from his bat which was safely gloved by Dhoni.
