Batsman can't be out unless someone appeals. Amazing to see that Strauss nicked TWICE in one game and our bowler and keeper didn't appeal even once! I guess nobody can say now that Indians appeal a lot :smiley:

It's all in the line of trying to get the "Nobel Prize for Cricket"..or maybe in this case the "ICC World Cup Fair Play Award"..

I think crowd noise was deafening. My gut feeling that is why everyone missed the noise. For us the noise is amplified .

Don't know man. This was not the first time we played a game in the deafening crowd noise. In fact I can say that the 96 quarter final against Pak or 2003 world cup game against Pak had a similar crowd noise factor if not more. I can understand other fielders not hearing the edge but if you have played the game you will know that for a wicket keeper and bowler it's pretty easy to see if the batsman nicked it or not. If you have ever played cricket and fielded in the slips or played as a bowler or the wkt keeper, you will understand what I'm talking about. The edge, no matter how thin is something is simply un-missable.

Sure someone like Sanga would have gone up immediately. Wonder why no one asked this to Dhoni & Co. Will be interesting to see his response.

I don't think there were any slips in at that time. But yup we need to go up for these decisions whenever we can a la Sanga who goes up even if there is daylight between bat and ball.

Sometimes he goes up even when the ball actually hits the bat!!!
