Ultimate_Game Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Just watched the highlights and boy was it fun! Along with Kevin O'Brien's amazing hitting the cherry on top was listening to English commentators during the game. Around 125/5 mark here's how the dialogue went... Comm 1: ICC is right in limiting the associate nations in the world cup Comm 2: Yes, such 50 overs become a drag as it's tough for these teams to compete with the better teams Comm 1: I think T20 is the best format for associate teams as they can compete over 20 overs Comm 2: 50 overs is too much for associates Come the power-play and later towards the end of the game the same commentators were lost for words :cantstop: They didn't even know what to say at the time and never alluded to the "associate teams" even once :hysterical: If you get a chance watch the replay or the highlights - not for O'Brien but just for the pleasure of listening to Eng commentators :hysterical::hysterical:
EnterTheVoid Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Atherton has been pissing me off when England were batting, constantly taking jabs at India. Good to see this mofo being put in his place.
gaurav92 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 English commentators were pretty unbiased. They really praised the innings from O'Brien, especially Bumble. And yes the associate side did pwn the Poms :D

And yes the associate side did pwn the Poms :D[/quote'] They grudgingly had to do so... but you could easily make out that they were a bit shocked and the banter between the commentators wasn't as light as it was when Eng was on top. It was almost like "WTF is going on!!!"
gaurav92 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 ^It was but they have full right to get shocked by their team's performance. Bumble was pretty good, but Nasser still had hopes when Kevin O'Brien was blazing away and after they got Cusack out. But England bowlers let them down :D. Atherton at Presentation ceremony had a wry smile on his face, it looked as if he was pretending to smile and be happy for the Irish, but he wasn't :)
ravishingravi Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 If there is one team I like to see beaten it is the English side.
achilles Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 They didn't know what struck them. Similar to the times the Pak & Lankhun commies get owned :hysterical:
vvvslaxman Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 If there is one team I like to see beaten it is the English side. I want every English batsman getting bounced out so that Hussain will shut his mouth about "bouncers and short balls".
Ultimate_Game Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 It seemed that English commies were taking perverse pleasure in taking against Indians during the Ind-Eng game. Felt good to see Irish kick England's asses  Somehow wasn't able to listen to Botham - maybe I missed him as was watching highlights and missed his commentary stint. He's one chap who gets on my nerves and would love to see him being shut up. I can imagine Botham cringing and gritting his teeth watching Eng go down to ireland :hysterical:
gaurav92 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 ^Botham wasn't there yesterday. He is in Bangladesh for Bang Windies game :hehe:
Ultimate_Game Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 ^Botham wasn't there yesterday. He is in Bangladesh for Bang Windies game :hehe: Ah that's why! Would have loved to hear his views and get his perspective on Eng-Ireland game :finger:
Watson87 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 English commentators are the most professional commentators. Very unbiased. Gave credit to Ireland a lot also praised Kevin, Cusack and later Mooney in fine manner.

They kept having a go at Indian bowling and fielding throughout the Ind-Eng game and seemed to derive some sort of perverse pleasure doing so.

They kept having a go at Indian bowling and fielding throughout the Ind-Eng game and seemed to derive some sort of perverse pleasure doing so. They were just stating the facts. Our fielding is not world class and our bowling is quite ordinary. We only have one wicket taking bowler, Zaheer Khan. They even bashed their own bowlers, heard Nasser saying England's bowling and fielding has been rather ordinary. English commies are the best for me, they are less biased than Indian commentators who I think are the worst.

Indian commies are more than unbiased, in fact I sometimes think they try and jinx India's games :P especially Ravi Shastri :om:

I get scared when they start praising an Indian player :nervous:
vvvslaxman Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 English commies problem is they take jibes at Indian batsmen. Especiallly Nasser hussain has been doing as far as i can remember.
