vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Just when you think this is the best century you can hope to see you get another that is better than that. Awesome centuries.
Temujin Khaghan Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 yeah but the overall bowling quality is pretty poor. cricket is a dinosaur. :(
vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 T20 cricket definitely is definitely playing some influential role. 15 years back 114 runs in 15 overs would be a big ask. infact impossible ask even against rubbish bowling. Now they had made a mockery of Pakistan bowling in the last 6 overs.
Zelig Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 KOB's was better. Chasing a target against an Ashes winning bowling lineup (:phehehe:) n he is an Irish :proud:
ganeshran Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 KOB's century was better because of the pressure. But Ross Taylor was pure destruction.
Moncy Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Just when you think this is the best century you can hope to see you get another that is better than that. Awesome centuries. This world cup? Keven O'Brien, no doubts about that :yay:
Sachin=GOD Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 KOB was the best but Strauss was'nt far behind. As for destructive innings, Taylor is the winner but Sehwag is'nt that far behind.
Moncy Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 KOB was the best but Strauss was'nt far behind. As for destructive innings, Taylor is the winner but Sehwag is'nt that far behind. This. Team NZ won my heart :D From now on, I will root for them whenever they play against any team (except Australia - My favourite team) in any match.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 This world cup... 1. KOB - 111/5 in 25 overs to chasing 327!!! 2. Taylor - 100+ in the last 6 overs and was the difference between the two teams 3. Strauss - 158 chasing 338 and that too without taking too many risks 4. Sehwag - Simply blew the opposition away in the first game of the tourney 5. Tendulkar - One of the best paced odi innings In the context of all the world cups, Kapil's 175* coming in at 17/5 on a green and seaming wkt where the next best score was 26 was something special and probably changed indian cricket forever.
Jersey #10 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 This has got to be the most destructive 100 of the World Cup so far, 46.1 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, FOUR, 46.2 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, 46.3 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, 46.4 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, 1 wide, 46.4 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, no run, 46.5 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, FOUR, 46.6 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, 1 wide, 46.6 Shoaib Akhtar to Taylor, SIX, = 28 RUNS 48.1 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, FOUR, 48.2 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, SIX, carnage! 48.3 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, 1 wide, 48.3 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, SIX, 48.4 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, 1 wide, 48.4 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, 2 runs, 48.5 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, FOUR, 48.6 Abdul Razzaq to Taylor, SIX, = 30 RUNS
Cricketics Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 It was a destructive finish by Ross Taylor. No way it was the best innings though. You see, if you watch the game ball to ball, Taylor was really in trouble big time early in the innings. Dropped twice and still was very shaky. But hats off to him for showing his classs in the end. It was a brutual finish, but that early hiccups won't term that as the best knock so far in the world cup. To change the game from 111-5 and leading his minnow nation to a world record world cup chase, Kevin O Brien is winning the battle of the knock of the tournament.
Jersey #10 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 NZ scored the third hundred (200-300) in just 29 balls...
vvvslaxman Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Just saw the highlights.. man :cantstop: The bowling was worse than associate team bowling at the death.. They should thank themselves they didn't bowl these full tosses to Yuvraj singh :hysterical: Every single ball would have been lost. THey would have been running out of balls. What a horrible pie chucking from Pakistan.
pinkfreud Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Team NZ won my heart :D From now on' date=' I will root for them whenever they play against any team[/quote'] ditto :--D except that I hate Australia and want them to lose every match they play :icflove:
Moncy Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 ditto :--D except that I hate Australia and want them to lose every match they play :icflove: :antijinx::antijinx::antijinx: Why? :/ It seems that almost EVERYONE hates Team Australia.... what's wrong with them? I don't think they are as arrogant as SA. Correct me if I'm wrong. I support them ever since I was 10 year old.

Watson87 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 :antijinx::antijinx::antijinx: Why? :/ It seems that almost EVERYONE hates Team Australia.... what's wrong with them? I don't think they are as arrogant as SA. Correct me if I'm wrong. I support them ever since I was 10 year old. They are just jealous because Aussies will be champions this time too. Three times world champions in a row, 2 times under Punter da great captain, who can top that? :--D
pinkfreud Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 They are just jealous because Aussies will be champions this time too. Three times world champions in a row' date= 2 times under Punter da great captain, who can top that? :--D It isn't jealousy as much as it is about sportsmanship, which Australia sadly do not have :P If Ozzies wouldn't have been such naggers, I would've supported them in some match or the other. For the record, I dislike SA too :--D Mostly because of the same reason- Graeme Smith's constant complaining and jibes. He's turning out to be Ponting Jr. :winky: and Moncy: People are TIRED of Australia winning the WC. If they win yet again, then the WC will become all too boring and predictable.
Moncy Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 They are just jealous because Aussies will be champions this time too. Three times world champions in a row' date=' 2 times under Punter da great captain, who can top that? :--D[/quote'] Hey my fellow Aus fan! :antijinx::antijinx::antijinx::antijinx::antijinx::antijinx::antijinx::antijinx::antijinx: @VVSLaxman, Yeah, I know that Pontings is the most hated Aus player :/ But he's the best ODI captain right now. Look at his ODI records. Boy, Dhoni will never be as good as him. Dhoni sucks at placing fielders optimally but Pontings not.

Boy' date=' Dhoni will never be as good as him. Dhoni sucks at placing fielders optimally but Pontings not.[/quote'] I agree 100%. He really is a great captain, but he's a terrible loser and doesn't hesitate to use underhanded tactics to rile his opponents. Steve Waugh was far better that way, and I always liked Australia when Waugh was the captain. Captaincy should never come at a price :winky: Ponting should learn that from Waugh.
