congrats guys, U played realy well today & with everyone contributing to the victory. But what was positive was that SA took the PP for the great use and scored 52 runs but unfortunately lost AB's wicket for the last over. But what is impressive is since i am watching cricket probably from 99: this is 1st time SA have won 1st such close game & i am happy with that more than just victory to me.

Yeh jibran jaroor India ke kisi jungle mein rehta hai. Isko woh Africa jaisa lagta hoga. Bahut logon ko yeh bimari hai. Don't be disappointed. :nono:

Congratulations South Africa. Well played. But please don't go overboard with your celebrations. We let you win. We know the South African psyche. Our great coach Kirsten told your little secret. Why do you think we let Nehra bowl the last over? This loss is a ploy to lure South Africa into a sense of complacency and eventual doom in the WC. The British successfully used these methods in the second World War. Its called the reverse doom psychology hoodwink. Everyone knows that if we were serious we would have scored 400.

Hope we play again against them in the final though and settle the scores:--D

History Repeats It is five years to the day that the Proteas chased down the highest ever ODI score set by Australia in Jo'burg. It was possibly the memory of that historic game which lifted the South African team to victory over a confident Indian team in Nagpur after a blazing start by the Indian openers Tendulkar and Sewag, and then a beautiful innings by Gambir, South Africa might have dropped their heads and turned their thoughts to the next game against Ireland However, in the fashion of a 90s sports movie, South Africa clawed their way back into the game through magnificent death bowling and a comprehensive batting display, assisted in some small way by a few shaky Indian desicions One can only imagine what went through the mind of Sachin Tendulkar, who after scoring his 99th world hundred, saw his team collapse for 296 all out and if the Indian innings was the house of sticks, then then the wolf who huffed and puffed would be none other than South Africa's premier strike bowler Dale Steyn, who put a dissapointing first spell behind him to rip the Indian lower order to shreds credit must also go to Robin Peterson, who not only claimed two Indian wickets, but in the end saw South Africa over the line in the final over It was also nice to see the old man Kallis return to form, as well as typical displays of class from Amla and Devilliers for their part, India can be proud of a few really good performances, including their openers and Zaheer Khan in my opinion it was more poor decision making by the Indian team than poor playing which cost them Firstly, bringing on Yusuf Pathan too early, Pathan is known to be at his best against spin, and Dhoni should have held him back until the South African seamers had completed their spells Secondly, the Indians seemed far too eager to score big in the powerplay, even when there was no need for it, risky shot playing opened a door for the South Africans which they were all to easy to make use of, for all his bad desicion making Dhoni did seem to be the only Indian batsman keen on consolidating the innings whilst everyone around him took on the bowlers and lost their wickets Thirdly, the use of Nehra at the death, Nehra is a decent bowler, but in my opinion has neither the skill nor the temperament for death bowling, in his final over Zaheer Khan kept the South African bowlers guessing with yorkers and wide deliveries, whilst Nehra proved all to predictable for Robin Peterson. Still, in my opinion Nehra wasn't the one to blame, Dhoni should never have put him there in the first place All in all, a great game of cricket and a real advert for the 50 over format. Both teams now look to what should be much easier games against Ireland and the West Indies. For India it is a matter of consilidating their campaign and proving themselves to their fans, for South Africa its abort taking the momentum from this great win and seeing through to the next round :hatsoff:

Credit to Steyn for making a great comeback we were well on course to make a total of 350 but we messed up in PP3 and Nehra shouldnt have bowled the last over i expected Bhajji to bowl the over but yes it was a great game and i hope India plays S.A again and settle the score in the finals:two_thumbs_up:
