CSK Fan Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Really' date=' pets and food are one and the same for some here ?[/quote'] Will they taste different?
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 @Bublu Bhuyan Hello, Sorry to resurrect an old thread :) Would you be so kind and share contact number of the Kolkata dentist / breeder. I'm thinking to get one of this smarties for my daughter for her birthday. Her beloved parrot passed away recently and she is really suffering because of that. Hope he didn't drop his hobby yet :) Hope your bird is healthy and happy. Regards. I'm so sorry to learn that you daughter's parrot passed away. I'm sorry, I've lost his number, but I do have his e-mail ID, you can contact him over here sunshinebirdworld@gmail.com His name is Debashis Banerjee. He is a successful dentist by profession, but is also one of the very well known bird breeders across Kolkata. The best thing about him is that breeding birds is his hobby, he is not just another one of those guys in the business for money. Here's his FB page - https://www.facebook.com/sunshine.birdworld?fref=ts
Bublu Bhuyan Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Thought I was the only one from Assam. :woot: On topic : Mind boggling price for an amazing creature. Bro, you can consider it cheap, mainly because the guy isn't practically in the business for money, it's just his hobby. You look for an African Grey Parrot baby in New Delhi, you'll hardly find anyone asking you for less than Rs. 50,000
shrisha Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I wouldn't eat any kind of animals. Only animals can eat other animals and since humans are not an animals we shouldn't. Our bodies system created differently compare to carnivorous. And if you think I can, be my guest, but don't be surprised when you find yourself in very unfortunate situations in your next life, because it's very bad karma.
shrisha Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Bublu, thank you so much! I was eagerly waiting for your answer. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

BlueBee Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Birds have wings for a reason. It is sad to see people not realize something as simple. They are not wild caught birds from the jungles. They are bred domestically for the very purpose of being raised as pets. A bird that has been bred and raised domestically won't survive in the wild for more than 48 hours. Either other predators will kill them or they'll die of thirst and hunger. They have no skills whatsoever to survive on their own, search for food or escape from predators. It isn't cruel to keep them as pets. They require a minimum of 3 hours out of cage with human interaction daily, out of the 12 hours they remain awake during that day. They are well cared for and provided with all the necessities. What's cruel though is bringing a bird and not caring for it, not giving it out of cage time everyday, ignoring it and not giving them the much required attention that they need on a daily basis. ...

However, I am surprised when they do not use the brains God gave them to at least think that just because they were born in a certain family, their own thinking and ways are not always right! This is the same with every religion, culture, habits, etc. They all arose out of needs. People who were born in coastal areas had to catch and eat and sell fish. Otherwise they would die out. Similarly people in very cold area need lot of meat. This is way before the world's current state where we can import and export what we want. In North-East again because of the region they need a lot of protein in their diet. So they eat whatever they can I am ok when people believe whatever they want. But they should not impose their beliefs on others. Live and let live is what we should do. Just because people are different doesn't mean they are wrong and we are right

CSK Fan Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 after reading your lecture, i think she will realize her mistake and eat a goat. :hysterical: Thanks. But seriously, will you ever see a non-vegetarian discriminating against vegetarians? Will they say, I will not give you my house for rent till you eat meat? I will not marry my daughter to you unless you eat meat? Will say you are going to hell or be born as an animal as you eat only veg? Will a non-veg person say shows and retail shops should be based only on non-vegetarians? Vegetarians are amongst the most close -minded and discriminating people in India. We might laugh at this, but this is a fact.

We might laugh at this, but this is a fact. jains (with all due respect to any in this forum) look down non-veg eaters a lot as far as i know. at the lunch time in school they look at non veg eaters as below human. but otherwise their behavior is alright. in the south, brahmins have cooled down a lot. they sit by the side and eat some veg dish, while i eat meat.
